Wake me up

Harry: (I tried carrying the weight of the world, but I only have two hands.) He’s been Atlas for far too long, and you hate that you have to watch his knuckles turn white and his knees quiver under the weight. But he’s been given this great (and terrible) gift. A gift he could never turn down. After all, it’s been what he’s been working for all his life. But Harry’s just one boy, still not even a man by most definitions. There’s things he asked to do and places he’s ordered to go that shouldn’t be required of him, but he does as he’s told. You hate to watch those green eyes turn bloodshot and droopy, limbs too tired to do anything but collapse into bed. And you’re the one to wrap around him and hold him close so he doesn’t break, so he doesn’t have to wake up.

Liam: (I can’t tell where the journey will end, but I know where to start.) You were cautious after your last disastrous relationship and getting involved with an internationally famous pop star seemed like a poor follow-up. People keep telling you it’s a bad idea, that they hope you’re only friends. But how did they expect you to keep away from this wonderful human being who looks at you as though you’re the only person in the room? And he’s just as cautious with you. He doesn’t know how to have a “normal” relationship. He doesn’t know what it means to go slow and take his time and be absolutely sure that he isn’t going to break your heart. Even though he doesn’t know how this will end, he knows he’s never going to regret waking up and seeing you.

Louis: (All this time I was finding myself, and I didn’t know I was lost.) He’s been roaming since, well, he’s not sure how long. This whole thing has been a journey to find himself—singer, star, football player, charitable citizen. He’s done the tours and made the records. He feels like he’s had it all. And then, one day you stumbled into his life (quite literally). Your goofy Golden Retriever knocked him over at the park, and you rushed over with profuse apologies. Sitting on his ass in the mud, Louis grins up at you, noticing your pretty eyes and the way the breeze has pushed your fringe off your face. He likes the way you try to apologize even though you’ve done nothing wrong, and suddenly, the pieces fall into place. The broken paths he’s been wandering all lead to you. He can wake up now with a smile and purpose and someone standing beside him.

Niall: (Wish that I could stay forever this young, not afraid to close my eyes.) Niall’s very obviously the baby of the band. Even if he’s not technically the youngest by age, he’s the youngest at heart. He sleeps in late and laughs at dumb jokes, and right now he’s just happy to be running around with best mates, climbing on top of the world. But somewhere deep down inside, he knows it all has to come to an end. He knows that all boys must grow up; he’s not the exception. So, for now he holds close to you and the lads, memorizes what it feels like to have crowds at his feet and life at his fingertips. He builds up his life with you, so that one day when he wakes up and finds the world has passed him by, he’s not alone.

Zayn: (Life will pass me by if I don’t open up my eyes; well, that’s fine by me.) Zayn likes to be holed up with you. When he finally gets to have you, he doesn’t ever want to let you go. So you tend to rent a hotel room in a city that doesn’t know your names, and he gets to simply drown himself in your presence. You indulge in room service and pay-per-view movies. It’s kissing and touching and getting reacquainted with each other, not paying attention to the outside world at all. Some might say that the two of you are just fighting a useless battle, trying to keep out the world, but when you’re tracing the lines of the tattoos on his chest, you don’t care. The world can go on without you; you’re not going to wake up from this dream.
