Confused and dazed. That's how I've felt for the past two days. I press my face into a white fluffy blanket trying to forget what happened. After about ten minutes of failing, I roll out of my bed. I throw my hair into a messy bun and decide to make some toast. I prance into the kitchen wearing my blue flannel pajama pants and gray t-shirt and open the fridge door.

No bread. Okay. That's okay. I usually don't eat breakfast.

My phone makes a beeping noise. Well, actually several. Casually I pick it up and check it. There are about five text from Lex.

Hello, Mary. -LL

How's your day off? -LL

It's lonely here without you. -LL

Maybe you would like to meet up later. -LL

Or I can just swing by your house? -LL

I sigh and decide that I should text him back.

Hi, Lex. I suppose you can swing by. I'm not up to anything; I might just go to the store. - MG

I place my phone on the coffee table and click on the TV. The news lady is talking about Superman. As always. It does get annoying. My phone makes a beep and I check it.

Superb! Absolutely superb! I'll swing by around five. -LL

I quickly tap my fingers on the keys and reply.

Alright. See you then. - MG

"Do I really even want to see him?" I say aloud sighing. I lay down on the couch and stare at the television. Well, more like through it.

There is several knocks on the door, all quick and light. I tramp towards the door and open it slowly; Lex is standing there with a bag of groceries in each hand. He barges in and places the bags on the kitchen counter. Lex is wearing a simple outfit of dark jeans and a blue shirt with white stripes.

"Hello, Mary! How are you? I brought a gift." Lex greets and then pulls out a chair and sits on it backwards. He scans my figure and then brings a finger to his chin. "I see you haven't been anywhere. Good thing I brought groceries."

"Yeah, thanks." I say and cross my arms. "I was going to go..." my voices trails off.

"Well anything you'd like to do dearest, Mary? Maybe go out?" he asks and plays with a candle on the table. "I hear that there is a good bookstore around here."

"Not really. I was just planning to stay here." I reply and sit vertically from him.
