I sit down on the curb and wait for Lex, or one of this drivers. My cat starts to claw at me, but I hold onto her tight. The smoke is thick and many families are crying and screaming. A black car with tinted windows pulls up in front of me. I perk up and stand; the window rolls down and there is Lex wearing a pair of dark sunglasses. He looks at me and then at the burning building behind me. Quickly, he steps out of the car and grabs my items (what little their is) and places them in the back seat.
"Mary, what is going on? Are you okay? Come, come. Let's take the day off." Lex questions and then opens the passenger door. I step in and he slams the door shut.
"I-I'm okay. Its I just woke up and smelled smoke. Next thing I know there were flames down my hall." I shutter and pet Baby. Lex pulls away and we start down the streets of Metropolis.
"At least you're safe. What did you grab? We'll have to go shopping for you." he asks and speeds down the street occasionally sneaking peaks at me.
"Oh no, we don't need to do that. I can do that by myself. I brought my cat, a photo book, my laptop, and my phone." I reply and run my hands through my knotted hair. A rush of embarrassment overcomes me.
I must look like a damn mess.
"No, Mary. I'm going to take you shopping whether you like it or not. But until then you'll be staying with me." Lex says while shaking his head.
Damn, what the hell am I doing to do? I'm going to stay with Lex fricken Luthor.
