The New Kid

Ch. 37 New York, New York

We were rushed out of the airport and taken to 2 limos that were parked in an empty parking garage. I ducked into the long limo and waited for the rest of the boys to follow with Natalie, Nick, and Rachel. When Rachel and 5sos didn't get in I figured they went in the other one. This wasn't the first time I was in a limo with one direction and I was still in the same position as before: squished against the side next to Niall.

"Are you ready love?" Liam asked as the door was slammed shut.

"I just can't believe we're actually here." I sighed happily.

"I've never been outside Illinois." Natalie added.

"Me too." Nick agreed.

"I'm glad you could all join us here. It's going to make everything a lot better, and much more fun." Harry smiled.

"Awww Harry's a sweetie." I said pinching his cheek. He quickly smacked my hand away and rubbed his cheek like a little boy.

"Where are we going?" I asked as I looked behind us at the fading airport.

"Well, the hotel we're staying at is about a half hour from here. Perrie's going to meet us there." Zayn said looking out the window.

"How is Perrie? Is her leg better? What about...the pregnancy?" I asked quietly.

"She's wonderful. Just incredible. And she's very excited about the baby." Zayn said flatly.

"Are you?"

"Am I what?"

"Excited about the baby?"

"Oh...I don't know yet. I mean I'll be there for her but I mean I'm 20 years old...and in a band. How am I supposed to take care of the baby? We have a new tour. Perrie has a new tour. It's all a mess."

I didn't really realize Zayn could be like this. I mean yeah both One Direction and Little Mix are very popular and busy and it's not a good thing that Perrie's expecting a baby...

"I understand Zayn. It will all work out, trust me." I placed my hand on Zayn's bouncing knee to help him calm down.

"Thanks Emily."

There was an awkward silence until Niall spoke up.

"So Emily, there is party that one direction is invited to tonight and I wanted you and Natalie and Nick to join us." He was patting his knees.

"Wow really? You want to take me to a fancy party?" I asked shocked.

"Well you are my girlfriend." He said with a smirk.

"True."

"So do you want to go?"

"Of course! But I need a dress! I didn't bring any fancy shmancy clothes!" I said realizing the wardrobe that was packed in my suitcase.

"Not a problem. I've arranged for you to get a dress and Lou will help you with your hair and makeup." He grinned.

"So you know I'd say yes?" I smirked.

"I know you too well."

"I love you." I whispered.

"I love you too."

"Is anyone going to help me find a suit? I mean this guy needs a little help here." Nick said pointing to himself.

"Oh shush mate. We got ya covered." Liam said laughing.

"So who are your dates?" I asked the boys.

"Well I'll be with Louis." Harry said looking over at Louis. Oh right I forgot.
