The next day, Ed had his hand bandaged up. The burning had finally stopped, but there were occasional pain here and there. Because of this, Roy had given Ed small, and easy tasks to do for him. The blonde was able to quickly finish them. Once he was done, Ed came back to his Master, and Roy would gently pet him on the head, making Ed purr in delight.

Roy had a small smile on his lips. The blonde's cheeks tinted a soft red. 'He's too damn cute...' Roy thought, as he watched the boy. Roy gave Ed one last pet, before looking at him.

"Hey Ed, why don't you rest for a few hours or so?" The man offered. The neko slowly nodded at this.

"O-Okay Ma-Master...." Ed replied softly. Roy smiled a bit. It seemed the events of the night before, helped break the icy distance between the two. Ed didn't seem as scared of him anymore. Which, for some reason, made the man happy. Roy ruffled Ed's hair a bit.

"You can take my bed if you'd like." He said. Ed nodded again, and walked towards Roy's room, his tail dragging behind him. This made the older man chuckle. Once he reached the room, He laid on Roy's bed, and curled up into a ball, his tail being tucked close to him, and his ears twitched from time to time.

About an hour or so later, Roy went to check on the boy. He quietly stepped into the room, and saw Ed curled up, and chuckled quietly. He sat on the bed, and brushed some of the blonde's hair out of his face. He watched Ed for a few moments, before leaning down, and kissing him on the forehead. When the raven haired man realized what he did, his face turned scarlet, and he quickly left the room.

'Why did I do that?!' He thought. He stepped outside to clear his head. He sat in the small background of his home. He placed his head in his hands, and was enveloped in thoughts. A quiet bark broke through his thoughts, when he saw a small pup run towards him. The pup's fur coat was a slight brown, mixed with gold.

Roy let out an "Oof!" as the pup landed on him. He chuckled as said pup began to lick his face. Roy looked at the dog, and saw that the poor animal had no collar. Which meant he was probably a stray. Edward was awoken by the sound of laughter, and barking. This made the boy curious, so he stood from the bed, and stepped towards the sound. He found the source, and figured out that it was his Master laughing.

Ed sat down, against the wall, and just listened. The pup had barked quietly towards the spot where Ed was hidden, and Roy chuckled a bit. "You can come out now Ed." He said. This made the boy jump slightly and he nervously stepped towards Roy.

"I thought you were resting..." the older man trailed off.

"I-I wa-was, but I-I woke u-up..." Ed mumbled in reply. Roy nodded.

"Edward, can I ask you something?" He mumbled softly. The blonde's ears twitched a bit, and Edward nodded in reply.

"You've been here for at least a month now, and yet you haven't defied me once. Why...?" Roy questioned, thoroughly confused as to why to blonde never did anything against him. Ed's eyes were now fixated on the ground, and he whimpered quietly. Should he tell Roy? Could he trust him? Yes. He could. Knowing this, Ed let out a shaky breathe, as he began to tremble, remembering painful memories.

"M-My fi-first Ma-Master..." the blonde began in a hushed voice. The very first sentence that the boy spoke, sent a chill of fear down Roy's spine.

"M-My fi-first Ma-Master...he-he said h-his name was En-Envy. And....he-he was a-a ve-very cruel ma-man."
