Love And Missed

Edward came home, stumbling through the door. It was the middle of the night, and Roy had just finished dinner. When he saw the blonde come through the door, he rushed towards him, engulfing the boy in a hug. Ed hesitantly returned the hug, and quietly whimpered as he nuzzled his head into the crook of Roy's neck.

"Roy..." the blonde repeatedly stated, making the older male tighten his grip on the boy, afraid it was just another dream, acting as if Edward had really returned home to him. But, he never awoke. Which meant, it was all real. Ed really did come back to him!

Roy looked to Ed, and softly asked, "Are you hurt?" This question made the blonde stiffen. He shook his head.

"I-I'm.....fine..." he whispered. But the wounds on him proved this statement wrong, when Roy felt a liquid on him. He looked at it. "

Edward, you're bleeding!" He exclaimed. Ed flinched at Roy's voice.

"Pl-Please....do-don't yell..." He whimpered. Roy frowned, and softly nodded. He picked Ed up, and brought him to his room.

"Sit still for a minute okay?" The raven haired man asked quietly. Ed complied, and didn't move as Roy got his first aid kit, and walked back into the room. He set it down on the table next to the bed.

"Ed, I need you to remove your shirt." Roy explained softly. The blonde quickly shook his head.

"N-No....!" He whimpered. Roy frowned and raised an eyebrow.

"Why not?" He asked gently.

"Be-Because.....yo-you'll see t-the h-hideous sc-scars...." The neko whispered in reply, his voice cracking. Roy could feel his heart snap in two, and he pulled the boy into a hug.

"It'll be okay Ed. Just please, I want to make sure you'll be okay." Roy said softly, petting Ed's head gently. Ed eventually gave in, and Roy's eyes widened with anger, and horror when he saw what had happened to Ed. There had been multiple whip marks, bruises, cuts, hell, even dog bites were there!

"I'm so sorry...." The raven whispered as he wrapped up Ed's wounds. He grabbed a large black button down shirt, and helped Ed get into it. Once he was done, Edward threw his arms around Roy, and quietly cried. Roy gently stroked Ed's head, calming the boy.

"R-Roy....?" He asked, when his cries had been reduced to small whimpers.

"What is Edward?" The male replied gently.

"Ca-Can I sl-sleep next to you to-tonight.....? Y-You make th-the sc-scary dreams g-go away...." He replied. Roy sadly smiled slightly as he slowly nodded, and gently, laid down, with Ed curled up close to him, nuzzling his head into Roy's chest. Roy wrapped his arm around Ed's waist, and held the blonde close to him.

"Tha-Thank you...."
