Chained Story

"M-My fi-first Ma-Master...he-he said h-his name was En-Envy. And....he-he was a-a ve-very cruel ma-man."

Just hearing that, made the hair on Roy's body stand on edge. He stared at the blonde with disbelief, and pity. Ed purposely avoided Roy's stare, knowing very well what his coal eyes had. "I-I belonged t-to him for th-three years...." The neko began, as Roy patted the seat next to himself, allowing Ed to sit close to him. "A-At first, h-he was ni-nice. B-But then...." Ed trailed off, gently, and shyly nuzzling his head into Roy's arm.

The man frowned softly at this, and pet him softly. "The mo-moment I me-messed up....h-he became cr-cruel, and ha-harsh." Edward continued. "I'd ba-barely be fe-feed, and I-I'd be forced t-to sleep on the gr-ground..." He mumbled.

"That's why you were afraid to speak in the beginning, wasn't it?" Roy asked softly. Ed nodded in reply. Roy had noticed something about the blonde then. He was finally becoming comfortable around his Master. He didn't shake as much, and stammer either.

"Master...?" Ed asked quietly. Roy frowned at the name he suddenly began to hate being called that word by Edward. The blonde didn't deserve to be calling people that.

"Just call me Roy from now on Ed. Okay?" He finally replied, making Ed nod slightly in return. Roy looked at Ed softly.

"Can I touch you?" He asked softly, not wanting to make the blonde nervous. Ed slowly nodded, and Roy pulled the small neko into a hug, placing Ed's head in his chest. Ed let out quiet whimpers, as unwanted flashes of Envy appeared in his head.

This made Edward gently grip Roy's shirt, and he began to cry. Hearing the blonde's cries made Roy frown, and he gently stroked the boy's hair, kissing the top of his head softly before hugging him close.

"Don't worry Ed. I'll make sure nothing ever happens to you okay?" He whispered softly. Ed nodded in reply.

"Okay....R-Roy." Hearing his response made the man smile. "It's a promise then." He mumbled. And it was as if the world wanted to prove him wrong. Someone knocked on the door, making Ed freeze slightly. Soon enough, Roy would find himself regretting opening that door.
