When the two woke up the next morning, they were entangled together, and a mop of golden hair was in Roy's face. As if to complete the look, the boy's golden, furry ears, were included in the mop of hair.
Roy silently chuckled, not wanting to disturb Edward's slumber. Instead, Roy gently stroked the blonde's cheek, after kissing his forehead. A few moments later, Ed's amber eyes opened, and he smiled softly at Roy.
"G-Good morning." He said. Roy returned the smile.
"Morning Ed." He replied. The blonde neko sat up, and his tail waved around in curiosity. Roy chuckled at this, and smiled.
"I have to go into work today. Would you like to come in with me?" He asked softly, gently ruffling the boy's head. Ed nodded eagerly.
"I wanna see Hawkeye!" He giggled, making Roy laugh.
"I'm sure she'll be happy to see you Ed." He replied smiling. Ed returned his smile. Roy ruffled his hair, and stood from his bed.
"Just be careful with your...injuries." He explained, a sad expression playing on Roy's face. Edward nodded and stood up as well, and walked over to Roy, hugging him.
-Time Skip-
The two arrived at Roy's work place, and they entered, Edward having a shy hold of Roy's hand. When they got to Roy's office, Ed saw Riza, and ran to her, catching the blonde's attention. Hawkeye smiled and bent towards the blonde's height, as he wrapped her in a hug. She returned the hug, and smiled.
"I'm glad you're alright." She said motherly. Roy smiled at this, and went to work.
Since Roy had never wanted Ed to leave him again, he decided upon something. He would get Edward his freedom. No matter what it took. So, he had asked Hughes to look into some matters for him. A sudden yelp caught Roy's attention, and he ran to check on Edward.
The poor boy had just been scared of something Breda had done. Roy walked towards the blonde, half heartedly glaring at Breda. Hawkeye made everyone get back to work, and leave the small break room. Roy bent down to Ed, and wrapped him up in a hug.
"Shhh, it's alright Ed." He said softly, petting the blonde. The neko just nuzzled his head into Roy's shoulder, and purred softly.
"I...don't wanna b-be like th-this anymore...."
