Why Soccer?

Ok seriously, what the hell is up with literally every main female doing soccer (or football, whatever the frick you want to call it)?

Like, I understand it's a popular sport for ladies to partake in but seriously, is every single girl going to do it?

There are other sports that could be used and have some really cute moments with. Like synchronized swimming. Those girls are fit AF and look fab while doing it. Or I don't know, maybe freestyle skiing, it's pretty sick. Here's examples for both of these genius ideas:

Synchronized swimming: The guy gets really flustered when he sees her in her beautiful swim outfit, thinking she looks stunning in her sequinned suit and vibrant makeup. He gets worried when she's holding her breath for what seems like forever while doing cool leg tricks.
--- Like, this is frickin adorable, but NO everyone must do soccer.

Freestyle skiing: The guy is bundled up in a giant parka and snow boots, trudging up the steep hill so that he can get the best view of his girlfriend as she ski's down. He cheers as she lands her incredibly hard trick. He holds a thermos of hot chocolate for her to chug down after her run.
---- Again this is cuter than cute and also original and unique.

The only 'cute moment' with soccer that I can see is: "Damn, she can work really well with her feet. That could be useful in the bedroom." *inserts perv face*

Hell to the no.

The main reason for every girl to do soccer is so that she can see her 'Greek God' of a boyfriend/love interest play football. First of all: why the frick does every guy do football? Why can't he do like lacrosse or track? Another thing: if he's doing football and she's doing soccer they won't FRICKIN see each other!!! They typically give the footballers the main fields because they are more important than the crappy girls soccer team, who are playing in one of the side fields. Or if the school only has one field they wouldn't be training at the same time.

Stereotyping is so stupid. Make your character unique!!! Make them do something no one else is doing, that will likely make your story better.

Mini Rant (aka feel free to ignore if you hate reading long Editor's Notes and just random crap that you don't care about):

Yes, soccer (football) is the most popular and watched sport! But there are thousands of other sports. Hockey? Badminton? Volleyball? Track and Field? Swimming? Wrestling? All these sports are just as BADASS or *cough cough* even more so than soccer. Pay those other sports some respect!

Honestly, if you joined the team just to watch your love interest play on the field/gym (a billion miles away) that is just sad (and how did you make the team in the first place?). If you're practicing/training, WHO HAS TIME TO LOOK AT THEM?! FOCUS ON YOUR SPORT!

Also, don't just incorporate the sport because it makes your character look hotter and crap. DO IT BECAUSE IT ADDS TO THE CHARACTER AND STORY!

MINI RANT FINISHED! (Pretty sure y'all hate me, but oh well. I can't make everyone happy *shrugs*.)
