Typical Dumb Wattpad Moments

Race Equality

Don't get me wrong, a good majority of white people are awesome. But they're not the only people that exist in this world! Chinese, Japanese, Indian, African-American, Iranian, Pakistani, AND SO MANY OTHER FREAKING RACES THAN JUST CAUCASIAN EXIST IN THIS WORLD. And they all should be getting attention in these stories.

The main character is ALWAYS white and ALWAYS falls in love with another white person. I realize that there's a very common same-race marriage ideal in the world, but can we please just start being different for a moment?

Hell, sweeterlemonade has a Pakistani cousin who is married to A HALF CHINESE, HALF ITALIAN MAN. HOW FREAKING DIVERSE IS THAT? AND HE'S HOT, TOO!

See people? This is the fricken' real world. Not everyone is romantically involved with the same damn race!

For some reason, we believe that Caucasians should be recognized in our stories more than many of the other races out there. We also show a lot of this "white superiority" in the rest of society as well. If the world is saying it believes in equality, then I'm not seeing much of it, as it should be reflected in our writing.

It's almost as if Wattpaders are afraid to have a different race for their main; only keeping that for the side characters. Maybe it's because they think someone from the Middle East can't be as beautiful as someone Caucasian, let's say for example Emma Watson. The woman is beautiful and represents a lot of beautiful ideas, but do you know how pretty someone from Iraq can be?

They're eyebrows are naturally long, full and of the richest black or brown. They don't need eyebrow tattoos or pencils for that crap. They're eyebrows were BORN fleek!

They're hair is thick, glossy and healthy.

Their eyelashes are long, dark and frame their eyes beautifully. Who needs mascara?

And their skin is a rich gold, a "natural tan" if you will.

See what I mean? I bet I just turned some of you pervs on. *inserts winky face*

Also, I'm not much of a soccer fan, but ever heard of Christiano Ronaldo? The guy's Portuguese and have you seen his body? Have you seen his face? Like DAMN! One of the hottest guy's I've ever laid my eyes on, with one of the most adorable smiles I've ever seen (most people would agree with me on this), and the guy ISN'T Caucasian. He speaks Portuguese (obviously), English and Spanish. Spanish is freaking SEXY. And not to mention that he's adorable when interacting with his five year old son.

Just adorable. And I don't even have to show you a picture for you to know he has abs and MUCH more.

Okay, i just couldn't resist...

Once again, white people are awesome, but so are the thousands of other races that DO, and I mean really, DO exist. They're not mythical creatures that are yet to be discovered, they're out there and we need to represent them in our stories.

I'm a fan of Marissa Meyer's Lunar Chronicles. A reason why I like this series so much, is because the main character is from Beijing! She's freaking ASIAN, and she's BADASS.

SO SUCK IT, WATTPAD.

There's a reason why her series is amazing, and it's not just because of the plots.

To wrap this all up: Not only does having different races bring a different look to your writing, but they bring different personalities as well. They're from different places, and have different influences, different backgrounds, worldviews, and educations. And I'm telling you this right now, different is EXACTLY what Wattpad freaking needs.

Conclusion: If we're all equal, then let's fricken' show it.
