We all should know what 'text language' is in our society today.
But you know what's super annoying about books on Wattpad? It's when authors use this 'text language' in their novels. I understand if there's a conversation happening over text and why you might use the common slang: lol, omg, btw, ttyl, etc. But if your characters are having a face-to-face conversation, you don't write in abbreviations.
For example:
"Hey, r u coming to___'s party?"
"Omg totally, wouldn't miss it for the world!"
WRONG
"Hey, are you coming to___'s party?"
"Yeah can't wait, it's going to be so much fun!"
DING DING DING!!!
Who actually talks to their friends and says "omg, btw, etc."? We could use REAL WORDS instead. When you read a published novel does it use "hahaha, rofl, lmao or lol" in place of real laughter? No it doesn't. You know why? Because words have letters. So why don't you stop being lazy and just type those extra ones in! Seriously. Show some commitment!
In conclusion, don't confuse text language with REAL LIFE language.
