Song: The Fault In Our Stars- Troye Sivan
Rain pelted against the window as I buried my head into Wes' chest, listening to his slow, soothing heartbeat. I had always loved the rain, and on a morning like that, it made the world seem perfect. And after everything that had happened in my life, I was grateful to finally have good moments like those.
I smiled as my arms tightened around Wes, and he pulled me closer, pressing a gentle kiss against my forehead, his eyes still closed
"Good morning." I whispered, kissing his cheek, and the ghost of a smile appeared on his lips.
"Morning, Liv."
...Liv?
My whole body grew stiff, and Wes' eyes finally shot open as he looked down at me. He sighed, closing his eyes again as regret etched onto his face. "Molls..."
"I need to go." I muttered, quickly slipping out of his arms and rushing towards the staircase, but he grabbed my arm before I could go any further and spun me around.
"I didn't mean it." He ran his hand through his hair, trying to pull me closer. "Please don't go."
"When was the last time you were with her?" He winced at the crack in my voice, and his eyes couldn't meet mine. "Tell me, Wes."
He sighed. "The night of the accident."
"So the night you came back home and left that letter and the ring on my nightstand..." I swallowed the lump in my throat as my heart dropped in my chest. "Be honest with me. When you were with her... did you and her...?"
He finally looked at me, biting his lip. I watched him carefully, trying to find anything that would tell me he didn't, but then his hands dropped from my arms, and he looked away.
"Yeah." He mumbled, his eyes filled with guilt. "We did."
I wanted to be mad. I wanted to yell and hit him and be angry that he could leave me a letter like he did but be with another girl, but the overwhelming disappointment hit me harder than anything else. When he managed to look at me again, I slowly nodded, my eyes burning with tears, before brushing past him to my room and locking the door.
As I sat on my bed, tears trickling down my face, I decided it wasn't even worth it to try to talk to him then since I knew it would only end up in a fight. If I had learned anything about myself, it was that sometimes, if I just slept it off, my emotions were controlled better. So, even though his words replayed in my mind like a broken record, I eventually fell asleep.

I woke up that morning, completely exhausted and feeling terrible. As I stood in front of my mirror, I cringed at the sight I saw. Black bags laid heavy under my eyes, my hair was a complete mess, and mascara streaks painted my face. The night before had been rough. Wes promised he was going to come over to spend the night with me, especially since that day had been a nightmare for me. He knew that the guy I liked had embarrassed me in front of the whole school, and I left early that day because of how humiliated I was.
But Wes never showed up. At first, I was worried. He usually always texted me and let me know if the plans had changed, or if he was going to be late, so I called him a couple times, but he never answered. I thought something bad had happened, and the worry was eating me alive.
So, I went to my last resort. His Instagram.
One new post had been added, and it was posted only a couple minutes before. When I clicked on it, my heart dropped in my chest. His fourteen year old self was hugging another girl as they smiled, and he looked so happy. But that wasn't what hurt me the most; it was the fact that he had ditched me for her when I needed him most.
