"Thats great. Now, come on, get into the car, chop chop." Mom said, shooing me out of the house.

"I'm going, I'm going!" I said, walking out, but making sure I grab a bagel before I leave. Luckily, she didn't notice.

I slip out the door, into the garage and get into the car, breathing in the familar scent of air freshener and petrol. I drop my bagel down the side of the car, while putting my seatbelt on.

"JESUS!" I shouted, grabbing the bagel and getting out of the car again to throw the bagel into the bin.

"Hey, hey! What was that all about, dear!" My mom asked, patting me on the shoulder and giggling. I found myself giggling too.

"Nothing," I got back into the car and put my seatbelt in for the second time this morning.

"You nervous then?" My mom said, backing out of the garage.

"No, not really, actually.." I lied. She sensed something was wrong and reached over to pat my knee.

"Don't worry. You'll be fine." She said, smiling.

"Yeah. Sure, I will." I smiled too, trying to stay positive.

It took us around 15 minutes to get to school. I took a deep breath, staring up at the old brick building. My mom saw, and gave me a squeeze on the shoulder.

"As I said, you'll be fine." She said, and she ushered me out of the car. "Have a brilliant day sweetheart. I love you lots and lots and lots." She said, and she blew me a kiss and drove off. It was okay for her, she didn't have to go to school or work.

I took another deep breath and walked to the doors of this new school. As I did, this stampede of boys came and pushed past me. I tried to shove past them, but I was trapped. Shit.

"Hey, guys! Let the girl past!" I heard this deep british accent behind me. I turned around and saw a boy with bright blue eyes and a tangle of brunette hair. Dang, he was hot.

"Thanks." I smiled and blushed. He held out his hand to help me break free, and I gladly took it as he hauled me out.

"I'm Asa by the way. Asa Butterfield." He said, shaking my hand.

"I'm Gemma. Gemma Wilson." I shook his hand back.

"Hey, your the new girl from Cali, aren't you?" He said, dropping my hand.

"Y-yeah." I replied. Did I just stutter? Oh God, I did.

"Cool. Where did you move too? What block?" He asked.

"22 Pembridge Avenue." I replied. (Made that address completely up, I'm not from England, I'm American)

"Woah! I live in 23 Pembridge Avenue!" He said, and we smiled and blushed together.

"Well, I'd better get going. Can you show me where the office is please?" I asked.

"Yeah, follow me." He said, and he lead the way. As I was staring at the back of his head, a lightbulb suddenly went off in my brain. This was ASA BUTTERFIELD, THE GUY WHOS PLAYING ENDER IN ENDERS GAME! I had to stop myself from screaming.

"Here we are," He said, turning round. I quickly looked away.

"Umm, thanks. See you around?"

"Yeah, see you." He said, before walking off.
