"Ivy Aldaine you're not gonna believe this."

"Believe what Niall Horan?" I asked, mimicking his officalness from the beanbag.

He was at the entrance to the long hallway with a sly smile on his face. His plain blue sweater brought out his amazing blue eyes perfectly. His hair was less perfect today and more fluffy.

"I just received an email-" He started.

"You still email?" I asked, trying to hold in my laughter.

He rolled his eyes and continued. "Simon has talked to me and he has talked to some people and he thinks it'd be good for you to go to a few premiers and stuff with me. Like maybe you could do an album or something and promote." His Irish accent was laced with enthusiasm.

I closed the laptop and set it onto the coffee table and smiled. "Sounds absolutely fantastic."

His smile looked relieved.

"Why do you look like that?" I asked simply, looking down at the perfectly detailed wooden flooring.

When I looked back up, he looked upset, like I had insulted him.

"It wasn't an insult." I said through my teeth.

I guess how he reacts to what I say is just a taste of how mean I really am.

Niall nodded, still clueless of my question.

"Why do you look relieved?" I asked, clearing it all up.

"Oh. Um, I didn't know what you were going to say about the whole thing."

"Do I get free food?" I asked him randomly.

He smiled and nodded his head excitedly.

"It'd be incredibly stupid to say no."

.

I didn't really need to do anything about anything because I already had recorded so many songs with 5SOS and Niall's equipment. I basically had a full album recorded already and a few collabs as well.

Everything began to fall into place just like that. I was content with the different music I had recorded and Niall was there, cheering me on. I honestly can't tell you where'd I be and what I'd be doing if it weren't for him telling me what was good and what wasn't.

He's like the best friend I once had.

That's the other thing about moving to LA, I haven't seen Julia at all.

I don't really even think about her and what she is doing anymore. Over time she's just not there and he's there instead.

I don't mind, really. Niall fills in the best friend puzzle piece for me particularly well, actually.

.

I heard the quiet knock on my door on that glorious afternoon.

"Who is it?" I yelled from my beautiful white desk.

A low, Australian voice answered. "It's Ashton."

I smiled. What on earth would he want? He hates me.

"Come in." I yelled, closing my journal that I had been writing in.

I turned around in the swivel chair to see Ashton standing awkwardly at the door to my room.

I raised my eyebrows, questioning his awkward entering of my room.

He shook his head and walked over to my large bed, proceeding to sit on it.
