Chapter 13: Behind the Titan

Luna stood in front of the others, a semi-rimmed rifle in her hands. She was hoping for the best with this. She could sense the worry in the others. They were all terrified. If this doesn't work, they're all dead. 

She could see some of the Titans already picking up on them.

"Remember, don't shoot until they're in range." Luna reminded them all.

"R-Right." some managed to get out.

Luna looked up and could see Erik and the others already in position. This all relies on them as well. They only have one chance to attack. One chance to kill. If they fail, no one will be able to help them.

"Th-They're getting closer." A girl quivered.

"Stay calm." Toby tried to soothe her. 

"Just stick with the plan. No one gets to ditch." someone said.

"Are you sure this'll work, Luna?" Viviana asked her.

"Yeah. I'm sure it will." Luna lied to her. She wasn't sure at all. But she didn't want everyone to panic now. She had to remain calm and stoic. She had to be confident about this.

"We have to wait for Luna's signal, everyone. Remain calm until then, please." Toby pleaded with the freaking out cadets. 

Luna was internally grateful for Toby's help during this operation. He knew just as well as she did that this could end up very badly. 

Just a little closer. Luna thought as she saw all the Titans circling around them. They were approaching slowly. So far everything was going as planned. She knew the Titans were attracted to the smell of people. Especially when there were many. She just wasn't sure if the ones left would be enough, but it was going all according to plan. All left was to wait just a little bit longer.

She heard several of the cadets starting to whimper. The Titans back there must be getting closer than the ones in front of Luna. Bear with it, please. Luna begged silently.

Just a little bit closer.

The Titans in front of her were closing in faster. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see the other Titans are their sides getting closer to the place where Luna wanted them.

Just as Luna could feel the Titans breath on her, she heard the roar of the female Titan, and that when she knew. It's time. She shouted out the signal, "Fire!"

The rifles went off at the same time. They were all aiming for the eyes. If they kept on firing, they wouldn't be able to regenerate as fast and their sight would be disabled for about ten seconds. And those ten seconds should be enough for the others to slice the Titans.

The firing ceased as they all heard the 3dm gear going off and they watched as the remaining top ten jumped from their spots and attacked. In unison, they slice a silver of the Titans nape and down they all fell.

"Hells yes!" Logan whooped.

Everyone with Luna was cheering as well.

"Ah!" Nikki's scream sounded throughout the building. 

Oh, no! Nikki! Luna saw the Titan she had sliced up began to move towards her. She must've not cut deep enough. "Nikki!"

The Titan was suddenly down. They saw Meghan there, she held her hand out to Nikki. She had saved her.

Luna let out a breath of relief. She was terrified of the thought of losing Nikki. After all, Nikki had helped her bring Erik back.

Toby lowered the platform to the ground. "Alright! We should be able to replenish the gas and knifes! Let's go, people!"
