Chapter 14: Retold Stories

Oh, gosh! I apologize deeply for not updating since July or something. I've had so much going on. I won't bore you with all the details. Anyways the story will revert back to first person, in Rachel's (Raven's) perspective. Enjoy.

"Rachel, no! Hurry!" Erik shouted for me as he reached his hand out. My own reached for his but was severed off as the Titan chomped down on my arm and swallowed. I slid down the throat full of gross, slimy saliva. I splashed into the pit of the stomach of the Titan. What I saw before me, had me almost emptying this morning's breakfast from my own stomach.

Dozens of people were in there. Some bitten into partially. Others, their bodies were fully intact, but they must've drowned down here as they tried to breathe for fresh air. 

I stared in horror at the scene before me. Moving away from the bodies of the dead. I held back a scream. Not here. Not here. Not like this.

I could still feel the pain in my left arm and leg that have both been severed. But I couldn't hold back the sob that escaped me. 

"H-Hel.. me.."

I jumped at the sound of a voice. Someone was still alive. I looked around and saw a woman. Her hair, which was a very light brown covered her entire head. She looked a lot like Pemma to me. Even though, deep inside, I knew it wasn't her.

"Help." she croaked as she submerged further into this disgusting fluid.

Damn it. Damn it all to hell! How did it come to this? Everything's being taken away from us. Our lives. Our dreams. Everything.

"Damn it. Damn it!" Rachel yelled as she looked up. Images of her mother, Pemma, Erik, Luna, and Mason filled her head. "I refuse to die like this! I'll take you bastards down with my own hands! Do you hear me? I'll kill you all!" She shouted as she lifted her bloody left forearm up in defiance.

This is all useless...

"I'll kill you all." I let out. My eyes partially shut as I started to regain focus on everything around me. 

"...op! She didn't mean it to you!" I heard a feminine voice shout out. I could also hear other voices, shouting to kill someone, that someone's a threat. 

I could finally completely open my eyes and felt arms holding me protectively behind them. "Erik?"

"Rach, stay behind me!" Erik yelled, not allowing me to move forward, much less show my face.

"I say we kill her! She emerged from the body of a Titan! She's obviously a traitor to mankind!" a powerful voice shouted loud for everyone to hear.

Traitor? Who's a traitor?

"Cadet Roth! Do you have anything to say about the incident?" Someone shouted at me.

I looked up and saw a man with red hair staring at me. His eyes were filled with fear and dread. It was almost as if he thought I would kill him at any moment.

"I-I'm sorry?" I asked, completely clueless at what was happening around me.

"These two and several other witnesses have informed us of seeing you emerge from a dead body of a Titan after being allegedly eaten by one! What do you have to say?" He shouted at me.

I looked over to Luna and then Erik, Luna was ahead of us, trying to make sure no one shot at us unexpectedly. Erik was still holding me back and away from them. He looked at me and nodded his head toward them.
