George was still sleeping when Liz woke up. It was Saturday so Liz let him sleep in a while. She figured now would be a good time to get those blades out of George's reach. She grabbed them all from the drawer she had left them in and brought them to her room. While she was at it, the got all the blades out of her room as well. She locked them up in a little box and set it on the top shelf of a bookcase in the room. She hid the key to it under her mattress and headed downstairs to grab herself some breakfast. She prepared herself some cereal and went back upstairs to see of George had woken up yet. George was just starting to wake up as she came in.
"Good morning, my love." George said, still tired.
"I'm doing great, Geo, and yourself?"
"Tired." He said, yawning.
"Well wake up so we can go do something."
"Alright." George said getting out of bed.
George put one of his many pairs of jeans on and put on a plaid shirt. Liz had gone to get herself ready. She put on her skinny jeans she had packed and her favorite shirt- a green and blue plaid shirt. They both walked out of their room at the same time and looked at each other. They scanned the other from head to toe and laughed realizing they had nearly the same outfit.
"Nice look, George."
"Yours isn't too bad either." George said with a wink.
"They headed downstairs, George grabbed his wallet and keys and they headed out the door. They had been walking to the mall for about 10 minutes when Liz tripped over a random branch and fell.
"Ow!" She shouted out.
"Are you alright, Love?" George asked as he helped Liz up.
"Yea I guess." She said.
"No your not! Look at your knee, it's a bloody mess."
"I'm fine, Geo, we can get some bandages later."
"Fine but until then, you're not waking."
"Then how am I getting to the mall?"
"C'mon." George said crouching down.
Liz looked at George confused.
"Get on me back, Lizzy, you get a free George-ride."
Liz giggled and hopped on. George lifted her up and carried her down the sidewalk. George was holding her up by her thighs and Liz had her arms loosely dangling from George's neck. Her chin was nuzzled in to George's collar and she gave him butterfly kisses on his neck and cheek. George kissed her back occasionally on the walk.
"Alright, ride's over, Love." George said as he gently set her down.
"Thanks, Georgie!" Liz said giving him a big kiss on the lips.
"I should give you piggy-back rides more often." George said with his thick accent.
They held hands and walked into the mall. They went around to random shops and then decided to grab some lunch.
"Wanna go to that food court upstairs?" George asked.
"Sounds good!" Liz said.
They went up the elevator by themselves, making out for the whole trip up 3 levels. They heard the ding at the last level and got out. George and Liz held hands and talked to each other about pointless stuff. Liz bumped into a a group of girls her age.
"Oh sorry, girls." Liz apologized sweetly.
"Watch where you're going, Ugly." A familiar, high pitched voice shouted out.
Liz and George turned around together to see who just called Liz that.
"Pattie?" Liz said surprised.
"I said watch it." Pattie said.
"I can't fucking stand her." George whispered into Liz's ear.
"Aw look who actually found a guy desperate enough to date her?" Pattie's friend, Jane shouted out. The other two girls, Cynthia and Mo laughed at Jane's remark.
"Fuck off, will ya?" George said, tightening his grip on Liz's hand.
"Aw little Georgie's trying to defend his little girlfriend." The girls said with sarcastic puppy-dog faces.
"Back off, Jane." A male voice said.
Jane spit out her gum and tried to push her bra up before turning around to the voice,
"Oh Paulie, I didn't expect to see you here." She said twirling her hair.
"I'm starting to regret coming here anyway." Paul said with disgust.
"I can't believe I fucking dated you."
Jane's mouth dropped and the girls comforted her and they walked away in their high heels.
"Thanks, Paul." George said.
"No problem, mate. Mind if I tag along?"
"Not at all." George and Liz said together.
"Just ignore them, Liz they're just a bunch of bitches. I feel sorry for whoever ends up with them as girlfriends. The three chuckled and kept walking. Liz was in the middle of the two band mates. She held hands with George and Paul had his arm around her shoulder.
"Have you had lunch, Paul?" George asked.
"No not yet. How about you two?"
"We were about to when they showed up." Liz said.
"Then maybe we could all get some pizza?" Paul suggested.
They all nodded in agreement. They went to get the pizza and finished that up. Paul had to get going to go to his brother, Mike's football game. He waved goodbye and left. George and Liz decided to head out shortly after Paul left. They got back home at around 4 and hung out at George's. They watched the tellie and listened to some records until dinner. They ate their left over fish and chips from the other day and headed to bed since it had been a rather long day. They kissed and said goodnight and headed to their separate rooms. Liz couldn't get Jane's remark out of her head.
"Ugly."
The word repeated itself in her head and she just couldn't fall asleep.
Was she really that awful looking? She questioned herself.
George had always said she was beautiful, but what if that was just to make her feel better?
Questions ran through her head and she couldn't take the torment. She couldn't contain herself and rushed to the top shelf of the bookcase. She got the box, she got the key, and she opened the box full of the things that she and George had sacrificed. She pulled out a few blades and began to slit open her pale skin. She began to drown herself in tears and continued cutting. She dropped the blades and the box which made a loud noise and grabbed a pillow. George had heard the crash and rushed to Liz's room.
George opened the door to a delicate looking girl with her head nestled into a pillow.
"Oh Lizzy..." George said as he walked over to comfort the poor girl.
George removed the pillow from her, revealing all of the cuts. George put his arm around Liz,
"C'mon, Love, let's get you cleaned up." Liz buried her head into George's chest and let him lead her to the bathroom.
"Thanks George." She said in between sniffs.
"Don't thank me, I'm just returning the favor." George said with a smile.
"George?" Liz asked.
"Yes, Darling?"
"Please. Please tell me you'll stay here, with me. Be-because I need you."
"I promise Lizzy. I promise with all my heart." George said kissing Liz on the forehead and continuing to clean her arms of all the blood.
