Keith's P.O.V.
The Galra ship landed, but I don't see any Galra. Woah, but I do see a bunch of Sand Musks swarming around something or maybe someone. I have to help them. They could know what's going on around here.
I quickly make it down towards the swarm of sand musks, taking them out one by one. I see neon blue and green light-blasts taking out the other desert musks. Whoever's shooting at them is a good shot, I'll give them that. It's like one blast after the other, taking them down like dominos. I can't see the guy; there's too much sand and dust being thrown around. Then, after all the musks were taken down, it became dead silent.
I don't hear anything at all except for the wind blowing around me. Just then, a click of a gun re-loading of a gun sounded right next to the side of my head. The sand settled and cleared. As I try turning my head to see who it is, I immediately stop in my tracks.
"Hold it right there! I suggest you don't move and do not try anything funny." Is this really the person I tried to help? Some welcome, I mean, a 'thank you' would be nice. Ah, crap. What if it's just one of those orange, desert bandits from earlier?
I stay calm, "look, I don't have any valuables, alright? But I do have a few questions to as-"
And-
the bandit just talks over me.
"Ha! I just said not to try anything funny but, that was good. 'I don't have any valuables, but I sure gotta lot of questions!' Pfft...too funny. Now, look-"
Whoa, okay, not an orange bandit. She moved in front of me, a gun in hand still aiming at my face. She looks human? She's short, has green eyes, peachy skin, chocolate-brown hair, pink lips and, have to admit, she's kind of cute looking. Good thing Lance isn't here.
She speaks up again, snapping me back into reality, "Hey! I'm talking to you! Explain yourself and state your purpose."
I started off with an introduction, "My name's Keith and I'm the red Paladin of Voltron. Now-,"
she lowered her blaster and it disappeared into her bracer. She spoke in a softer tone, close to a whisper, "What? You're one of the paladins? You must be looking for the Jewel of Iren."
Alright, I'm even more confused. I ask, "Whoa, alright, how do you know that? And who are you?" I step closer, but she walks back while looking down. She shyly raises her eyes to meet mine. This girl is definitely hiding something.
I tell her, "Hey, I'm not going to hurt you." The girl begins to relax her green eyes, which seemed to be kind of difficult for her to do.
She introduces her self, "I'm Tera, a Peonian...I'm here sent from the Galra to retrieve to Jewel of Iren. I was told the paladins would be looking for it, too. I didn't think I'd run into one, I mean, this desert's huge." How could she work with the Galra? She seems too nice to be working with those Galra scum bags. Well, nice now, not so much initially.
It didn't make sense, "Wait, wait, wait, you work for the Galra? Why?They kill and destroy the innocent and their homes! They're all monsters!"
She looks upset, like she was holding back th erge to cry, "Look, I didn't choose to! I wish I never met them! But when they take everything you have, kidnap you as baby, threaten you, chip you, and you have no where else to go, what do you do exactly? Huh? I don't do what they order me to do if that's what you're thinking. So, do you..." she sighs, "do you want the jewel or not?" She now had tears trickling down her face.
I'm not too much of a sensitive guy, but this was heartbreaking. She looked like she was bottling up years worth of all her emotions. I could tell Tera was still holding back her emotions; she was trembling almost but still standing strong.
