Escape (Keith X OC)

Chapter 9

      Lance passed by Shiro in the halls and ran backwards to catch up with him, "Hey, Shiro, my man, there's going to be a party here at the palace tonight. You know what that means!"

      Shiro gave a confused look as Lance waited for an answer, blinking with an eyebrow up. The white-tufted man questioned him, "Uhh, what does that mea-" Lance yelled, "It means we can see if Keith's in lov-"

    Shiro grabbed Lance in a headlock, "Sorry, Lance, but when talking about things like that, you have to speak quietly."

Lance managed to say, "Alright, sorry, GAH!" He was released.

      Keith and Hunk then stopped by Lance and Shiro to see what was happening.

"Hi, guys, what's going on?" asked Hunk.

Shiro sighed, "Apparently, Lance talked Allura into holding a party here at the palace."

Keith was next to talk, "What? When, tonight?"

Lance slid in between Keith and Hunk, facing each one when talking to them, "Hunk, you can bring Shay! Come on, it's no secret you like her."

Hunk laughed it off, "Heh, well, she's a good friend!"

"Yeah, keep tellin' yourself that, bud." Then Lance faced Keith.

"And you, yeah you, I know who you'll be hanging around with," said Lance as he wiggled his eyebrows.

Keith removed Lance's hand off his shoulder, "Don't know what you're talking about."

Lance, clearly annoyed, let out a heavy sigh while rubbing the sides of his head, "Oh, my goodness! You guys have a hard time just admitting how you're feeling! It's really bumming me out. Hunk, you like Shay, I mean, you kept talking about her the first time you two met. AND KEITH, you brought this girl, Tera, here in the first place! Doesn't that show you're at least some what intrested?" It became quiet for three seconds.

      Hunk spoke up, "Yeah, I have to go walk my goldfish. See you guys tonight!" And Hunk was gone.

     Shiro smiled and shook his head, "You know what? Lance, I think you're on to something." He gave Lance a pat on the shoulder and left.

     Keith walked past Lance, "I'm going to go train. Don't bother me." Everyone was going about their everyday things with the thought of attending a party later that night. It was nerve racking.

      Keith entered the training facility room and saw that Tera had beaten him to it. There were about 10 lifeless robots on the floor around her. She heard someone enter and faced the door while blasting the robot in the face to finish the simulation, "Oh, hey, Keith. You scared me for a second." She made her way towards him, hopping over robots, watching her step. Keith couldn't resist and reached out to grab Tera's wrist to help her over the last robot between them.

Tera looked up, "Heh, thank you for the hand." He just looked at her and then towards the ground while rubbing the back of his head.

     Tera asked, "Hmm? What's the matter? Oh, well, you came here to train I bet anyway... I was about to just be going, nice seeing you." She felt so awkward.

       Keith stopped her by holding back her shoulder, "No, I came to see you actually."

She was genuinely curious to hear what he had to say, "Really? I mean, what do you need?"

He looked at her eyes, "Well, there's going to be a party here tonight at the palace, and, uhh, just thought that you should know." Tera couldn't believe it. She's never been to a party, well there were occasional formal meetings with the Galra, but nothing fun or intresting. It was all serious, hardly and humor.

"Wow! Really? A party? That seems pretty fun, right? It's a good chance just to laugh and have a good time. I can't wait...is that, uhh, all you had to tell me?" rambled Tera.

     Keith honestly didn't know how to respond, he was never the party type of person, "Yeah, it's going to be great...yeah, so see you then." He walked off and Tera waved goodbye before she left the room, "Oh, okay. See you then."

She expected him to say more, be more excited that she was going. He didn't even ask if she was going, he just assumed. She started thinking, 'would he even care if I went? He said he just thought I should know, so I guess maybe not...'
