Chapter 11

Lance didn't take them serioisly, "Aha, sure guys. Woah, hey, hey." He looked behind Shiro and Keith to see Allura walk down the stairway with Pidge and Tera following. Shiro waved and smiled at Pidge who did the same back. They walked up to each other and talked between themselves. Lance patted Keith on the back, "I'm going to go talk to Allura now. Good luck, you're own your own now." Then that was it. Keith knew Hunk was out trying to bring Shay to the palace party, so he had no one else to be with.

"Man, I hate parties", said Keith as moved his arms up and his hands behind his head. He began making his way outside to the balcony. He wanted to be alone, crowds made him feel stressed, him being used to solitude and all. Keith looked up at the sky, thinking he wanted to know how things were back at home. He sighed and leaned on the railing, placing his elbows on the metal. However, he jumped up when a hand appeared next to him. He turned and it was one of the most beautiful surprises he had ever seen. It was Tera, his Hope. She laughed, "Sorry to scare you. Didn't think you'd be so jumpy." His brows knitted as he scratched his head, trying to shrug off his embarrassing moment.

"Oh, no, it's fine. You look amazing", said Keith, causing Tera to smile back. She asked, "Well, thank you. But, why are you out here? Don't you like parties, I mean, aren't they supposed to be fun?" He moved closer, "Yeah, they are supposed to, but I'm just not intrested in that stuff." She looked off the balcony, "Oh, well, this is my first party actually." He was taken back because of her response, "Really? Then, wouldn't you like to, you know, go and join in the actual party?" She turned to him, "No, I think I'm having more fun right here." Keith couldn't help but replay what he just heard over and over again in his head, checking if he had heard right.

It was happening again. So much for trying to stay away from Tera. It was pointless. If Keith wasn't with her, he's upset. When he's with her, he's anxious and confused. He felt as if he could never win. Tera noticed his sudden change and placed a hand on his arm, "Is there something wrong, Keith?" Just hearing her say his name made his heart rate even faster, and her hand. He couldn't just hold back and stand there like an idiot.

Keith scrunched his face and turned away from Tera. He let out a grunt and now looked upset. She asked once more, "hey, are you alright? Is there-", Keith turned his head slightly towards her. Tera stopped talking and a chill came over her. 'Did I do something wrong?', was all she could think at the moment. Many thoughts rushing, 'Maybe Lance was right about Keith.' He noticed her reaction and felt bad for scaring her like he just did.

He was breathing heavy, but he quickly calmed down. Keith's expression softened a bit and he abruptly pulled Tera close and was hugging her. He didn't know what was going on exactly, but he did know he didn't want to lose Tera. He explained, "I'm sorry, it's just- I don't know. You make me weak and I don't know why. You're just- everything." Tera didn't know what to say. She felt flattered in a way, but Keith was confusing her by his actions and his choice of words. What was she supposed to gather exactly from it all? He, himself, didn't understand what was going on. He wasn't that great at communicating feelings.

She wrapped her arms around him, "It's alright, just calm down-",

"I can't when I'm with you,"

"Well, then what do you want me to do?"

"Nothing. I just need you to be safe, be happy, to be you, Hope."

She liked what she had heard.

Hello, didn't realize this whole chapter was awkwardly repeated. You see, I wrote this story in my memos on my phone first and then pasted it to wattpad so there were some errors I didn't notice.

There are probably a ton more errors that went right past me, but I'll edit those whenever I see them.
