Escape (Keith X OC)

Chapter 15

      Keith crossed his arms, "Alright, then what's your answer?"

Tera smiled and leaned a bit in, "I choose! A paloonie!"

He was so confused, but then remembered that she wasn't human despite her appearance, "What the hell is that?"

She forgot, "Oh, yeah, your people probably don't know what those are. Sad, they're very cute in their own macabre way." Keith couldn't help but chuckle at the statement.

       Tera smiled at him, "There we go! I just reached my goal of the day."

"What?" he inquired.

     She explained, "to make you smile or laugh at least once a day. I noticed you're too grumpy or serious. When I lived at the Galra base, all of that laughing was banned. I'd pray for someone to just make me happy." He couldn't stop now.

      Keith cupped his hands around her face and leaned in to give her a kiss. She was blushing now, "Wha-what was that-"

      Be looked at her, "You always make me happy even if you don't know it. I thought you knew that already." Tera leaned her head on his shoulder. Her heart was now fluttering and her face felt rosey. Keith then wrapped his arm around her to pull her close. It was times like these where he could reassure himself that Tera was perfect. She always said what he liked and the same with her.

       With her at his side, he felt like the luckiest guy alive. Keith was starting to shift, "I should be going."

      She pulled him back like the night before at the party, "No, stay."

      He smiled to himself while looking at her resting head, "But you're falling asleep and I'm not a pillow."

      She wrapped her arms around his left arm, "You are now." Keith again couldn't tell her 'no'.

      He pulled her up and carried Tera to her bed. He was about to leave but she pulled him next to her, while giggling, "I told you."

      He was smiling even more now, "Well, I mean, if you're insisting." Keith pulled her closer with his head over hers, making her head rest at the crook of his neck under his chin.

      She fell asleep in an instant to the sound of his heart beat. This was probably the best sleep either one had had in a while. She felt so safe and secure in his arms and he felt strong and happy with her. It was the perfect moment. He could sense that she was something else the first time he met Tera.

The next morning

       It was about 6:30 a.m. and Keith thought it was time for him to leave back to his room before someone saw him. Nothing happened between the two, but he didn't want to risk someone thinking the wrong idea. He found a pice of paper and a pen to write a note for when Tera woke up. He felt bad for leaving, but it was best to do so.

       As Keith walked in to the hall, he became cautious to look around every corner. Eventually he felt a hand grab his shoulder, "Hey, what are you doing up so early?"

        Keith turned around to face the person. It was Shiro. He forgot he was up early most of the time. Keith created an excuse, "I couldn't sleep that well", a complete lie, "So I decided to get some water." Another lie.

        Shiro crossed his arms, "Uh, Keith, the kitchen's that way." He pointed behind himself, the direction Keith had come from.

       Keith kept his cool, "I know, I just left from the kitchen. I'm going back to try and sleep a little more, see ya." He thought to himself, 'that was close. Way, way too close.' He kept walking and passed the kitchen.

He passed the kitchen.

'What the heck? Did he just- did I?' was all he could think. Shiro tricked him. He wanted to see how well Keith was telling the truth, if he was paying attention to anything orjust trying to sneak away. Now he knew Keith was doing something.

       He thought over again, 'why couldn't I have thought it over before answering!' Keith just wanted to hit his head against the wall. Caught in a lie.
