Killian kept to his word and came to Emma's door every day, at the exact same time. He talked about all sorts of subjects, ranging from his adventures with his brother, right up to old myths and legends of the surrounding areas. Not once did Emma have the courage to open the door to Killian. She just sat at the other side of the closed door, listening to his accented voice intently.
On the fifth day of Killian's visits, he sat there, and he talked, in detail, about everything he loved about Emma. Emma wore a frown of confusion for the first five minutes of Killian's speaking, wondering what he was doing. He'd never done this for the four previous days, so why did he start now?
"...And your laugh. My Gods, that laugh could cure the plague. It's a siren's song I swear. I could listen to it for days, and never tire of hearing it. Gods, you don't know what you do to me, Emma." Killian explained, sitting at her front door, leaning against it as usual.
"And you don't know what you do to me," Emma whispered as a lone tear threatened to fall. Silence ensued, until Killian's voice piped up again, this time directly addressing Emma.
"Emma?" Emma sat up sharply, surprised. He'd never done this before. "I know you can hear me. I want you to know, I will do whatever it takes to win you back. I'll even sell my soul to the devil, should you wish it. I know you think I'll give up, but I won't. I won't give up on us. no matter how rough the skies get. I love you. I love you so much it hurts. It's like this...constant pain in my chest, it's overwhelming but completely wonderful all at the same time. I don't expect you to say anything back, I just wanted you to know, there's nothing I wouldn't do for you, my love."
Emma was torn. She wanted to forgive him, but she just couldn't. He'd hurt her, and no amount of words could undo that, but she could feel his remorse woven into every word that he spoke. It was so frustrating.
So once Killian had left, and Emma had time to herself, she lay down and thought, long and hard. About Killian, Milah, everything. Her thoughts were interrupted by a sharp knock on the door.
Emma answered it, and to her surprise, Milah stood there looking as disagreeable as ever. Emma frowned, her blood started to boil, but before she could speak, Milah's snappy voice filled the air. "I'm here to offer you a deal. One that I'm sure you will not turn down." She smirked unnervingly.

Emma read over her letter one last time before pinning it to her front door, and turning to leave. It was just before sunset, so she knew Killian would he coming soon. Hopefully everything would be over before he'd notice she was gone.
The faint sounds of laughing could be heard, most likely stemming from the tavern. The patrons there were most likely beginning to feel tipsy by now, and would soon be blind drunk by nightfall.
Emma's eyes filled with tears as she tried not to look back at her cottage, for fear she'd take the coward's way out and run. But no, she had to do this.
She glanced down at the sword on her belt, the one Killian had given her to protect herself, and she knew she was doing the right thing.
Emma headed towards the hill, just as dusk was setting in. She took a deep breath, and exhaled to collect herself.
She was ready.

A/n wow this is short but it had to end there, I promise it's for a reason.
The next chapter will be the last, then there'll be an epilogue, and no sequel. Just letting you know. I've decided I'll let you decide which fanfic I write next.
So any ideas on what's happening with Emma and Milah? Find out next week on Never Letting Go! Jk it'll probably be longer knowing me I'm so bad at updating.
Until next time, my Cacti!
