It had been two weeks since Emma had left her kingdom with Hook, and she didn't regret a thing. She loved everything about her life, with nothing holding her down, she was free. The best part was, she got to spend her days with Killian. She loved waking up to his gorgeous blue eyes in the morning, and just being with him made her the happiest she'd been in a long time.
It was just the two of them on deck that night, as usual just talking about anything and everything. "So let me get this straight, you've never been allowed alcohol in your entire life?!" Hook asked, laughing. "Never!" Emma replied, laughing along with him. "Why does that shock you, I was a princess, and my parents were strict." Emma smiled at his fake shock. He was so goofy sometimes, and it just made her fall for him even more. "It's a crime! As soon as we reach land again, I'm taking you straight to the tavern and buying you a drink." He was still laughing.
"Why are you so intent on getting me to drink?" Emma asked, smiling at his stupidity. He scratched behind his ear and answered. "I think it would be funny to see you get drunk." Emma frowned, hitting his arm playfully. Killian held his hands up in mick surrender. "You're so stupid." He grinned, replying with, "That I am, but it doesn't change your opinion on me does it?"
"Of course not."She answered truthfully. smiling, she leaned her head on his shoulder and sighed contentedly. "Well, that's all that matters then."

As soon as they reached their destination, Killian stayed true to his promise. Hand in hand, they were making their way through the cobblestone streets at dusk. They were heading to a tavern called The Ugly Duckling. Hook told Emma that it was one of the best he'd ever been to. It didn't take long for them to reach the place. It was lively, filled with drunken men, with drunken women sat on their laps, and a glowing fire on the back wall. In the middle of each of the scratched, worn tables was a small, illuminating candle. The air, as expected, smelled strongly of alcohol and people. Emma still wasn't used to it, so the smell almost choked her. Hook, on the other hand, seemed otherwise unaffected by it.
Killian led the way to a table and ordered two rums from a passing barmaid. "So, how are you finding it so far? The bar, I mean." Killian said after a small hesitation. Emma looked up and smiled softly, "Yea, it's great. A little overwhelming at first, but I'm getting used to it." Hook sighed in relief that he'd made his Swan happy. "That's good."
The two talked for a while before the young barmaid returned with their drinks. "Thankyou." Hook said and nodded politely to her. "Anytime, captain." The woman said, then licked her lips and sashayed away, whilst Emma was glaring at her. Killian noticed her change of mood and asked, "Are you alright, love?" Emma snapped out of her glare and looked at him, her expression unchanging. "Am I ok? No I am not ok with other women flirting with you!" Emma explain angrily. Hook just smirked at her. "Why are you smirking! Do you find it amusing that other women want you?" Emma was getting more angry at him. "No, it's just, you're cute when you're jealous." Killian explained to her. "I am not jealous!" Emma said defensively.
"Whatever helps you sleep at night. Besides, do you honestly think I would be interested in any other woman than you?" Emma's expression softened at these reassuring words, but doubt still remained in her mind. "Well, there are way prettier women out there, I'm just scared that one day you'll get bored of me." Hook looked as if he'd just been slapped in the face. How could she think these things? "Swan, you are the most beautiful woman to ever grace the earth, do you really think I would tire of having you by my side?" Emma stared at him, open-mouthed as she took in what he'd said. Killian smiled at her reaction and cupped her cheek with his hand. He leaned in and kissed her softly as to reassure her that he was telling the truth.
Killian pulled away and looked down at their drinks that were untouched on the table. He picked one up and handed it to her. Emma looked down at the amber liquid in the glass and grimaced at the smell. "Try it, it tastes great!" Hook told her as he picked up is own glass and downed the contents. Emma looked at him skeptically before taking a sip of rum. The liquid burned her throat, causing her to cough. Hook chuckled at her reaction. "What is that stuff!" Emma exclaimed. Hook was still laughing as he replied, "It's rum! Don't worry, you'll get used to it after a while." Emma laughed along with him. Emma finished the rest of the drink and found it to be much easier to swallow.
Just then, the rest of the crew entered the tavern and quickly spotted their captain. Hook waved them over to join them, and got one of the barmaid's attention. "A round of drinks for us, please." Hook asked. Emma realised it was the same woman from earlier and frowned at her. "Anything for you, captain." The woman said, then winked and went to fetch their drinks. "Ugh! The nerve of her!" Emma shouted. "Calm down, love. She's not going to get what she wants from me." Hook reassured Emma once more. "I know that, I'm just not comfortable with her flirting with you." Emma shuffled closer to Hook and engaged in conversation with the rest of the crew.
When Emma turned around to Hook again, she saw the woman sat next to him, too close for comfort. "Come on, it's just one night. I've heard a lot about you, Captain Hook." The woman said as her hand traced Hook's chest slowly. "No! Now please leave." Hook said, now frustrated with her persistence. "You won't regret it." The woman said whilst smiling, her hand still tracing his chest. Emma had had enough of her. "He said no! Now back off!" Emma shouted as she shoved the woman.
"What's it to you!" The woman shouted back as she stood up from the floor. "It it everything to me, now back off, he's mine!" Emma slid onto Hook's lap and kissed him roughly to prove a point. Hook's arms wrapped around her waist as Emma's hands tangled in his thick black hair.
They were too absorbed in the kiss to notice that the woman had stormed off. The crew wolf-whistled and clapped, causing the pair to smile into the kiss.
At some point in the night, the crew joined in with a poker game, and it was the first time Emma had played it. Every time Emma won a round, Killian would congratulate her with a kiss. She spent the entire night sat on Killian's lap, claiming him as her own. She wasn't taking any chances because she knew what the women were like.
This was the first time Emma realised she was truly in love with Killian Jones, she just wasn't ready to admit it yet.
