                                                              "Hudson's"

I woke up the next morning to my alarm going off. I reached over and turned it off before heading to the shower. When I got out I threw on a pair of worn out jeans and a purple t-shirt. I put on my usual chucks and ran down the stairs. I had just made it to the bottom when I heard Amber honk her horn. I guess I’ll have to skip breakfast today, I thought to myself.

I ran outside and jumped in the passenger seat. Amber looked over at me and smiled but she didn’t say anything so I kinda figured her and Sid were going to double team me once we got to school. But nothing happened so I didn’t have anything to hide.

We rode to school in absolute silence. She didn’t even have the radio on. That’s what tipped me off that she was thinking of every possible question. We pulled up to school and Amber parked the car. We made our way over to where Sid was standing beside the gym. When we reached her she had a big smile on her face. Here we go.

“So how was last night,” Sid asked.

“It was good. Sarah had us watch a new movie.”

            “Fun. So how was Aidan?”

            “Quiet.”

            “He didn’t talk?”

            “Not much.”

“What did you guys do after Sarah went to bed,” Amber asked.

“Finished watching the movie and talked a little.”

“What did you talk about,” Sid said.

“School and a little about mine and Sarah’s relationship. Did you know that Aidan has all of the same classes as us?”

“We never see him,” Amber replied.

“That’s what I said. Aidan said that it’s because we don’t pay attention and he kinda has a point.”

“Yeah. We never really look around,” Sid said with a frown on her face.

            “So that’s it,” Amber said.

“Pretty much. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson came home, paid us, and he took me home.”

“What did he say when he dropped you off,” Sid asked.

“ ‘Sweet dreams’,” I told her.

            “Well, that was unexpected.”

“You’re telling me. So Amber, I have to be at Hudson’s by 4:30. Can you do that?”

“Yeah. Cheer practice got canceled again so I’m all yours.”

“That’s good. You can just drop me off. I have to drive the truck home.”

“Ok,” was all she said because the bell rang and we had to run to class. Sure enough as soon as we walked in class they both looked around. I saw Aidan sitting in the corner of the last row. When he saw me he smirked and gave me a two finger wave. I ignored him and sat down in my usual seat.
