                                                  "The Prom"

During the week leading up to Prom I was extremely busy. The whole Prom committee had been running themselves ragged trying to get everything done. It was now Friday which meant that Prom was tomorrow. I was currently in the gym with Amber putting the finishing touches around the gym.

“We did pretty good,” Amber said as she sat candles on each table.

“Yeah we did. I never thought it would turn out this good,” I said tying ribbon.

“Me either. When this is over I think I’m going to sleep for three days.”

“I wish. I still have to work on graduation.”

“I feel bad for you. You shouldn’t have taken on so much responsibility.”

“I know. I know. But I’ve given all of the newspaper responsibilities to Brandon so that’s one thing eliminated.”

“I’m sorry. When’s the last time you hung out with Aidan?”

“Day before yesterday. He came in and drug me out of here.”

“Good. Are you getting nervous about tomorrow night,” she asked me as she looked in my eyes.

“God yes! I get nervous every time I’m around him because I know it’s gonna happen tomorrow.”

“It’s nothing to be nervous about. You love Aidan and he loves you. This is the natural thing to do.”

“I know I’m just worried about the fact that…,” I trailed off looking away.

“The fact that he has experience and you don’t,” she finished as she looked at me again.

“Yeah,” I said quietly as I started tying ribbon again.

“Don’t worry about it. I was worried about that too. Aidan loves you and he’s not going to care.”

“But I care. What if I’m not….good enough for him?”

“That's nonsense. He's still going to love you when he wakes up beside you on Sunday morning.”

“Thank you. So I told my dad that I was staying at your house.”

“Well I told my mom that I was staying at your house,” she said as she laughed at me.

“So you and Patrick are going to do it?”

“Yeah. Did Aidan get you guys a room?”

“I don’t know. He won’t tell me anything but he’s been really secretive.”

“Maybe he’s planning an amazing night to surprise you,” she said as she shrugged.

“Can you imagine Aidan going through all that?”

“For you I could see that boy jumping over the moon,” she said as she laughed.

            “That’s not true.”
