"Unexpected Date"
The rest of the week went by fast. Hunter seemed to have gotten over his annoyance and Aidan went back to being his old self. Everything was back to normal. But he always smiled at me when I saw him now. That was nice.
Saturday morning rolled around and I was supremely nervous. I had a date in just a few hours. I jumped out of bed around nine and went downstairs to get some breakfast. We didn’t have any milk and I didn’t feel like cooking so I decided to just go with a pop tart. After I grabbed it I went into the living room to watch cartoons. I loved to watch Saturday morning cartoons.
About half way through my show I heard a knock on the door. I checked the time and saw that it was only 9:35. Who could be at my door? I jumped off the couch and ran to open the door. When I opened it I saw Amber and Sid standing on the other side. All I could think was uh oh, because that meant they were tag teaming me.
“What’s going on guys,” I asked before sitting on the chair across from them.
“We’ve waited long enough. We were hoping you would tell us of your own free will but you didn’t, so were going to drag it out of you,” Amber said.
“What are you talking about,” I asked although I already knew. They wanted to know about Wednesday when I spent the afternoon with Aidan.
“Where were you Wednesday,” Sid asked.
“When on Wednesday?”
“After school,” Amber said.
“I was with Aidan.”
“Doing what,” Amber said seeming even more interested.
“We ran into each other at the pool. Then we hung out for a while and by the time we checked the time it was late so he gave me a ride home.”
“Kind of like a date,” Sid said.
“It wasn’t a date. I’m going on a date in a little while.”
“Did you have fun with Aidan,” Sid asked.
“Yeah, kinda.”
They didn’t say anything else but they looked at each other and smiled. They looked so smug.
“Do yall want to help me get dressed,” I asked trying to change the subject.
“Sure. You go get in the shower and we’ll go look through your closet,” Amber said.
I jumped up and ran to the shower. I took a quick fifteen minute shower and hopped out after wrapping a towel around myself. I walked over to my counter and plugged up my hair dryer. I needed to dry my hair before Sid could get a hold of it.
I was almost done when Amber came in the door. She looked very pleased with herself. Then she handed me my phone and walked back out. I opened it and read,
‘Can’t make it today. Family stuff came up. Reschedule plzzz?’
I was disappointed but I replied back.
