                                                   "Telling the Friends"

When I woke up the next morning, I jumped out of bed and ran to the shower. It had to have been the fastest shower I have ever taken. I didn’t even blow-dry my hair. I just ran a comb through it (even though it was painful) and pulled it up into a pony tail. Then I ran into my room and threw on a pair of jeans and a black t-shirt before grabbing my phone and bag and walking downstairs. I slid on my shoes, which were still in front of the door where I kicked them off the day before, and walked into the kitchen. I took a granola bar and sat up on the counter to eat it. When I was almost done I heard a knock on the door and jumped down to answer it.

When I opened the door Aidan was standing on the other side with a small smile on his face. I let my eyes travel from his smiling face down to his tight gray t-shirt, then to his dark washed blue jeans, and finally his boots before looked back up at his face. He was watching me with the same odd expression in his eyes. I really needed to figure out what that was. Then he leaned down and placed his lips on mine. I wrapped my hands around his neck and ran my fingers up through his hair. He put his hands on my hips and jerked me up against him.

“Eww. I so didn’t want to see that first thing in the morning,” a grumpy sounding Hunter said from behind us.

“Then don’t look,” I said as I pulled back from Aidan and turned to look at him.

“Don’t do it where I can see,” he snapped back.

            “Well aren’t you cranky.”

“Shut up,” he said as he walked into the kitchen. I couldn’t help but to laugh as I turned back around to look at Aidan. He was looking down at me with an amused expression on his face. He held his hand out to me and I grabbed it gladly and followed him to his truck.

“Why is your hair wet,” he asked after we were settled into the truck and he was pulling out.

“I woke up late. I didn’t have time to blow-dry it,” I lied smoothly.

He didn’t say anything else. He just nodded his head and concentrated on driving. When I saw the school come into view, I got nervous. I had no clue what my friends would say. When we pulled in I saw all my friends standing in the courtyard talking. Aidan parked the truck and looked over at me. Without saying anything he leaned over and kissed my forehead before climbing down and coming around to my door.  After helping me out, he put his arm around my shoulders and steered me towards my friends. They never looked over at us the while we walked towards them. It wasn’t until we were right beside them, that Amber looked over at us. The look on her face was almost comical. Her eyes bugged wide and her mouth hit the floor.

            “Hey Amber,” I said.

“Hello,” she said as she still stared at us.

            “Something wrong,” I asked.

“No. Is there something you want to tell me,” she asked as she composed herself.

“What do you mean,” I asked innocently. I could feel Aidan shaking with silent laughter.

“She means why does Aidan have his arm wrapped around your shoulders,” Sid said.
