Chapter 43

"Are you excited?"

I lifted my head to see Zooey standing in front of my desk.

"Of?" I say as I sit up and turn in my paper to the front of the room.

"The boys album! Doesn't it come out at midnight?"

I mentally face palmed, "I forgot about that! But to answer your, questions. Yes I'm excited and yes it comes out at midnight."

Zooey squeals.

"I'm so excited to listen to it!" She holds her books close to her.

"Wow, you are such a fangirl." I say as we walk towards her locker.

She stops and walks in front of me.

"Says the one who called me crying about Harry Potter and Maze Runner. Oh and that time that you saw Dan and Phil on YouTube and you texted me in all caps."

"I get it, I get it!" I said, laughing, and putting my hands up as we continue walking.

I walked alone as I went to Lunch. Usually I would walk with Sparrow, but she was absent today.

So I was alone whilst I went to Lunch. That wasn't long, though, as I heard a cough from behind me.

I stopped in my tracks and turned on my heel to face the person that 'coughed' at me.

My eyes widen when I saw Derek in front of me.

"Derek what are you doing here!?!" I whisper-shouted at him.

He lifted his face more for me to see him. His reflection was awful. He had dark circles under his eyes, his eyes were red and puffy, and his hair looked unwashed.

"Laci, I came to apologize. I'm s-"

"If you are going to say sorry, leave it." I said.

"But Laci,"

"Don't you 'but Laci' me. You are the one that kissed her, you made that mistake. Now you must face the consequences."

He nodded.

"Can I please explain it to you."

I sighed at looked at phone. Lunch ended in 30 minutes.

"You have 5 minutes."

Within those 5 minutes, I was told how Faith pushed herself into of him, as he was drunk, he thought it was me. Until he looked closely and realized it wasn't. When he was about to yell at her, I was right there and saw what had happened.

I sighed, once again.

"I forgive you," Derek smiled, "However, it doesn't mean that we are together. You have to earn that title again."

Derek nodded and hugged me. I looked at him shocked, at first, but hugged him back.

"Now leave because if you are caught here, you will never hear the end of it." He nods and waves as he leaves the building.
