Chapter 26

Lily's POV

"It's literally been two weeks and I'm still finding chocolate in random places of my house." I yelled.

The guys laughed as they stuffed their faces with chips.

"Like where?" Brennan asked.

"The bathroom, mine and Gabe's room the guest room."

"How did they get there?" Corey asked.

"I don't know. I think it was the three guys who had a chocolate fight that went into almost every room." I said folding my arms.

"Her pregnant hormones are getting to her." Brennan said to Corey.

"I will drop kick you over a fence into pool of piranhas." I snapped as Gabe pulled me into his chest.

Brennan grabbed in chest in shock after I said that and scooted away from me.

We continued watching our movie before my phone started ringing.

"Hello.."

Gabe's POV

"Who was that?" Corey asked as Lily left the room.

"Not sure. I didn't see the caller ID." I shrugged.

They nodded before continuing to eat.

After about ten minutes Lily came out of the room. Her head was low and she was pulling at her sleeves.

"You two need to go." She whispered.

"What?" Corey asked.

"You need to go. Now." She said sternly but politely.

Corey and Brennan looked at each other before grabbing their stuff and leaving.

"Lily. What's wrong?"

"That was the North Carolina police department." She said sitting down.

"What?"

"They want to talk to us about Angela and Derek." She said as her hands started shaking.

"Why?"

"They only told me that. I spent ten minutes trying to figure out why but they won't tell us anything until we get up there."

"And we have to be there by the end of the month." She continued.

"The end of the month?"

She nodded before taking a deep breath.

"And I guess there's a consequence if we don't go."

"What? They can't do that!" I yelled.

"I know. But, I don't want either one of us in trouble. So we have to go."

I sighed before grabbing the computer and looking at flights to North Carolina.

"There's one leaving next Monday that's pretty cheap." I shrugged.

She nodded before resting her head on my shoulder.

"You know we have another doctor's appointment on Friday." She said smiling at me.

"Oh really?" I said smiling back down at her.

She nodded at me before kissing my cheek.

I turned to keep looking at my computer but I kept seeing Lily smiling at me.

"Why are you looking at me?" I said and looked down at her with a small smile.

"Cause you're cute." She said with a big smile.

"Mm hmm." I said before kissing her nose.

She giggled before looking at the computer with me.

"It sucks. We haven't even been home for that long and we're already leaving again." She said.

"I know." I sighed.

"But hey. As long as I'm with you, I'm good." She said.

"That's good." I smiled.

Her breath tasted like alcohol and weed and it was revolting.

I pushed her away from me before realizing that it wasn't Lily.

"HELENE?!" I yelled.

"Shit. Shit shit shit!" She said.

"What that hell are you doing?"

I blinked back a couple tears before taking a deep breath and biting my lip.

"What's wrong?" Lily asked.

"Just thinking about what's gonna happen back in North Carolina." I lied.

Why do I keep lying to her?

"It'll be okay. I promise." She said before kissing my shoulder.

I nodded before she smiled at me. I smiled back but I was still in pain.

Friday

"GABE HURRY! THE APPOINTMENT IS IN TWENTY MINUTES!" Lily yelled from the front door.

I took one last look in the mirror before  walking out of the bedroom and grabbing the keys.

We walked down the stairs to our car and drove to the hospital.

"God I'm so excited!" She yelled.

"Why?" I asked.

"Only a few months until we figure out the gender!" She said clapping.

I laughed before we pulled up to the hospital.

We walked in and checked in at the front desk.

"Oh the memories of being at hospitals." I joked.

Lily laughed a little but I could tell she was kind of hurt.

I wouldn't blame her. I mean she practically spent all of senior year in the hospital.

"Conte?"

Lily and I stood up and walked into the room.

"The doctor will be with you shortly." The nurse said with a smile before she left.

(I'm gonna skip cause I'm lazy and dumb😐✌️)

"Well that was fun." I laughed.

"Totally." She said with a hint of sarcasm.

"Gosh I'm so ready for this baby." She said as we drove home.

"Me too."

But I'm not ready for her to find out about Helene.
