Chapter 29

Lily's POV

"You worthless slut! Why are you even here!" He yelled as he threw me into the wall.

I hit my head and fall down.

"Kill her!" She yelled, "Kill the one who ruined my life! Make her fucking suffer!"

I completely lost all the air in my lungs as he let throwing punches and kicks to me.

I quickly sat up with a gasp and I feel the tears start coming. I grab my pillow and bring it up to my face.

I'm terrified. For me. For Gabe. For the baby.

What is wrong with me?

I swallow the lump in my throat and bite the pillow.

I look at the clock and see it's only two in the morning.

Knowing that Cheyenne is the heaviest sleeper I've ever met, I completely cover my face with the pillow and just scream.

I scream because of what Gabe did. I scream because of my past. I scream because of my family. I scream because of all the stress that's been piling up. I scream for myself. I scream until there's nothing left in me.

I threw the pillow and set my hand on my stomach and smiled.

"It's okay baby. Mommy will be okay." Lies, "And you will be okay."

I grab my phone and look at Gabe's number, contemplating on calling him or not.

It's like my mind went into autopilot and I pressed his number and brought my phone up to my face.

Lily?
Hi Gabe
Are you okay? Where are you?
I'm with Cheyenne. And yeah I'm okay.
Are you sure.
Yes I'm sure.
I miss you.
I miss you too Gabe. But please remember I'll be home soon. I promise.
Thank you Lily.
I love you.
I love you too. So much Lily Conte.
Can I call you again tomorrow? When it's not the middle of the night.
Do you even have to ask? You can call me whenever. And I'll answer.
Good night Gabe. I love you.
Good night baby.

I hang up my phone and smile.

Baby.

God I remember the first time he called me that. We were at a dumb little dinner date and he said it as a joke but we both liked it. And it stuck.

I giggle to myself before laying back down. I close my eyes and let sleep overcome me.

"Lily?" Cheyenne said shaking me awake.

I groan before opening my eyes.

"Hmm?"

"T-There's someone here for you." She stuttered.

I looked at her and saw her shaking.

"Cheyenne-"

"Lily. Please be careful down there." She said pulling me into a tight hug.

I walk, halfway, down the stairs and look at the door and see

"Lily!"
