No one else came into the compartment during the duration of the train ride, allowing Mark and I to talk uninterrupted. He noticed Delilah for the first time and his eyes widened.
"I-is that?" I looked in his direction, confused. "Huh?" "Y-your pet is it an actual real life dragon!?" I giggled. "Yep, she's a Scottish Dwarf dragon. Her names Delilah." "Wo that's a cool name! Can I pet her!?" I smiled at his enthusiasm. "Sure, she's really nice." I heard the soft sound of Mark's hands running over Delilah's smooth scales.
"Wow, she's beautiful." I smiled again. "Thanks." "Sooo I wasn't aware that dragons were one of the options for pets, I thought it was just owls, cats, and toads." I giggled. Mark grinned even though Vale couldn't see it. "Yeah I guess that's a good point, thanks Vale!" "No problem." A moment of silence passed between us. "Hey Mark?" "Yeah?" "Who is the Headmaster? I've heard so much about him, and he's done so many nice things for me, but I don't even know who he is."
"Oh, Headmaster Longbottom? He's great! He used to go to Hogwarts himself and he defeated one of Voldemort's horcruxes in the second Wizarding War!" "Huh? Who's Voldemort?" "You don't know who Voldemort is!?" "Um nope." "He's the most famous dark wizard of all time! Do you know who Harry Potter is??"
I shook my head, becoming more and more confused by the second. Mark gaped at me. "Boy, you have a lot to learn about the Wizarding world, Vale." I grinned. "Well I got a good teacher." "What?" I facepalmed. "Oooh ok right so Harry Potter is the boy who lived, he....
