I heard clapping and cheering as Delilah guided me to sit down. As soon as I sat down I heard Mark's voice beside me. "Yay! We got in the same house!" I grinned. "Yeah it's going to be great to be in Gryffindor with you Mark."

"Hey I wonder which house that Rohan guy got into....Oh! Over there! He got sorted into Ravenclaw!" I heard Mark giggle. "He doesn't look to happy about it though." I frowned. "Well maybe being in a house he didn't want to be in will set his attitude straight." I heard Mark giggle again. "It's going to take a lot more than being sorted into the house he didn't want to change his attitude." "Yeah I agree."

After all of the students were sorted Mark told me that there were house elves that prepared a huge feast for all of the students. I suddenly smelled the wonderful aroma of fresh baked bread, turkey, and just about every food there is. "Wo...there's...so...much....FOOD!"

I jumped as Mark yelled beside me. "Oops sorry Vale but there's just so much of it...Jonathan wasn't exaggerating..."

About an hour later Mark and I sat there holding our stomachs. "So...much...food..." Mark groaned. "I will never eat again." I said feeling like my stomach was about to burst. "First years! Follow me to the Gryffindor common room!" I heard a female voice say. I pushed myself up reluctantly and Delilah and Mark helped guide me.

After we had ascended and descended many flights of stairs we came to a stop. Mark told me to step over something and when I did I was hit with warmth and the slight smell of dust. The female voice introduced herself as Alyssa Bennet and told us she was a prefect. She explained all of the rules to us and congratulated us on getting into Gryffindor. Mark and I said goodnight as she told us to go up to our separate dorms.

Delilah led me up a small flight of stairs and over to what I assumed was a bed. I sat down on it and stroked Delilah's back gently.

"Are you Vale Sinclair?" I looked up in the direction of a girl's voice. "Uh yeah." "You're blind right?" "Yeah..."

"That's so cool!" I was surprised by her reaction, but happy. I grinned. "Thanks!" I heard a flop on my bed and the weight shifted. I looked over in the direction where I assumed the girl was sitting on my bed.

"I'm Laura White." She stuck out her hand to shake but Vale couldn't see it. She quickly realized her mistake and turned bright red.

A moment of silence passed between us. "Nice to meet you." I said politely, breaking the silence. "You too, I have to go unpack but I'll see you later!" I smiled. "See you later."

I felt too tired to unpack and quickly went through the nightly routine of brushing my teeth, taking a shower and getting into my pajamas.

When I had finished I crawled under the covers and Delilah snuggled beside me. I had a smile on my face as I drifted off to sleep, excited to begin my journey at Hogwarts.
