Jacob smiled down at his daughter, still slightly in shock that she was a witch and would have to go away to a magic school for 6 months. Professor Darme had reassured him that Vale could write letters and would be back for Christmas break and spring break, but Jacob still knew that he would miss her terribly.
Vale was his whole world, and he did everything he could to help her. He was hesitant to send her off to the school, Hogwarts, because he wouldn't be able to help her when she needed it. They reached the house and Jacob carried Vale up to her room, and put her to bed, with Delilah sleeping peacefully on her stomach.I woke up to feel something continuously lick my hand. I smiled. This was how Delilah had woken me up every morning for the past few days since we had gotten her. I rolled over and tried to hide under the covers. Usually if I wanted to sleep in I would just have to hide under the covers and Delilah would stop.
However, today she followed me under the covers and started licking my face. "Delilah I'm trying to sleep." I groaned. Then I suddenly remembered what day it was, September 1st. I sat up straight in the bed and heard a thump, I suddenly felt smoke in my face. I giggled. "Oops sorry Delilah."
I made my way down the stairs with Delilah trailing behind me. I grinned when I smelled pancakes. I made it to the kitchen and sat down at the table. "Good morning sleepyhead, I thought you were never going to wake up." Jacob said teasingly before setting a plate of pancakes down in front of me. "Oh come on now, you know Delilah wouldn't allow that." I said taking a huge mouthful of the delicious chocolate chip pancakes.
"Mmmm Dad, I sure am going to miss your pancakes while I'm off at Hogwarts." Jacob ruffled my hair before sitting down at the table. I could hear him chomping his pancakes loudly and I giggled. "What's so funny?" "Nothin." "uh huh."
I finished my pancakes and I sat back, rubbing my belly. "Ok go get dressed kiddo, we have to leave in 20 minutes." I nodded excitedly and ran up the stairs as fast as I could without falling. I quickly went through my morning routine and got dressed. I walked back down the stairs, dragging my trunk behind me. Delilah stayed close by my side.
Jacob put my trunk in the car while Delilah guided me to the car and I hopped in. Delilah settled on my lap. Jacob got in the car and started the engine. "The letter said that we're supposed to go to King's Cross station, and the train will be stationed in platform 9 3/4. "Huh that's interesting I wonder if it's between platforms 9 and 10 or something." I wondered out loud.
