Chapter 11

Sorry guys I had to that's one of my favorite songs and you'll find out later in the chapter why it's there :-)

    We had gotten everything else that was on our list when Jacob said he had a surprise for me. "Ooo yay! I love surprises." Jacob led me around for a good 10 minutes before we finally came to a stop.

Jacob opened a door for me and I could hear all sorts of animals and could smell them too. "Ok, Vale this is your surprise you get to have a pet for Hogwarts!" "Wo really!? That's awesome!" We had never had pets before because Jacob had always said they were too much work. "Now Professor  Darme told me that the Headmaster had a pet specially trained for you, to help guide you and help you around Hogwarts." Whoever the Headmaster was I was really beginning to like them.

We walked up to what I assumed was the front desk. "How may I help you today?" A lady's voice said quietly. "We are here to pick up a pet for Ms. Sinclair." Jacob said, sounding very serious. I giggled. I assumed the lady had nodded, I heard her footsteps recede.

A few minutes later her footsteps returned and I grinned, curious as to what type of pet it was. I heard Jacob gasp. "Ms. Sinclair, meet your new pet, Delilah." "What is- I was cut off as I suddenly felt smoke being blowed in my face. My jaw dropped. "W-wait that's either some crazy smoke breathing owl or..." I reached out my hand and felt something scaly.

"No way! I do not have a dragon as a pet..." "Yes, Ms. Sinclair, Delilah belongs to an extremely rare species of Scottish Dwarf Dragons." I screamed happily before hugging Jacob, squeezing him as hard as I could in my excitement. "Wo easy there Vale, I kind of need to breathe." I giggled. "Sorry." Jacob ruffled my hair. "It's all right Vale, but she's beautiful, she's a deep shade of purple, with little bits of white on her tail." "Wow." I said, very excited to have a dragon as a pet.

The store clerk spoke. "Now, the Hogwarts Gamekeeper, Rubeus Hagrid, requested Delilah from the Romanian dragon sanctuary, specially on the Headmaster's orders." "Geez this Headmaster is great, he's done so much to help Vale, I'm going to have to thank him personally." Jacob said, I could hear the respect he held for the Headmaster and he didn't even know them.

I suddenly felt more smoke in my face and I laughed. "Hey there Delilah, nice to meet you, I'm Vale." I said with a giggle. Delilah nudged my hand with her snout, causing me to giggle again. I stroked her back gently until she was suddenly gone. Then, out of nowhere she was balancing on my shoulder, but she was too big and she toppled over and fell to the floor. "Aw, it's okay girl, come here."

I reached out my hands and picked her up, cradling her to my chest. She made soft cooing noises, I knew we were going to be best friends. Jacob payed for her and I held her tight to my chest as we walked out of the store. After we had thanked Phillip, the owner of the Leaky Cauldron, we made it back to the car and I quickly fell asleep with Delilah on my lap.
