We walked around Diagon Alley for a bit in silence. I finally broke the heavy silence. "Dad?" "Yes, Vale?" "What's next on our list?" "Uh it looks like we're supposed to get your school books next." "But Dad I can't read...." "Well Professor Darme said that if we told the owner of the book store our names that the headmaster specially ordered some books for you." "Wo really!?" "Yep." I started jumping up and down in excitement again. I heard Jacob laugh. "Ok let's go, Vale."
Jacob kept his hand on my shoulder as we navigated through the bustling streets of Diagon Alley. We came upon the book store, Flourish and Blott's. Jacob opened the door for me and we quickly went in. The owner of the bookstore told us that the headmaster had books specially ordered for me. He said that I'm supposed to tap the books once with my wand and ask for the page number. The books are then supposed to telepathically relay the information that is on the page to me.
I thanked the owner, Bill, and we left the bookstore. "Dad! What's next!? What's next!?" "Hmm...it looks like..a wand!" "I still can't believe I'm actually a witch! But a wand!? That's awesome!" I started dancing around the street in excitement. Jacob laughed at my antics before pulling me along to the wand shop.
We stopped and Jacob opened the door for me, I heard another little bell go off and I giggled again. "Hello! Hello! I assume you are here for your first wand?" A man's voice said sounding very close. I nodded, startled by his sudden close proximity. "Ah the Headmaster told me about you...Ms. Sinclair I presume?" I nodded again. I heard Jacob chuckle and I scowled over in his direction. I heard the man muttering to himself as he walked away.
I heard many loud crashes and lots of muttering before the man came back. He placed a long thick stick of wood that assumed was a wand. I felt something that was indescribable flow from my hands into the wand. "Ooo what happened!? I felt something!" I asked the wand maker excitedly.
"Well I do believe that you just found your self a wand. English Oak wood with a Phoenix feather core, 12 1/2 inches." "Wow." I breathed in wonderment. I couldn't believe it, not only was an actual witch, now I had a wand to prove it. I smiled to myself. "Hogwarts is going to be great!"
