I woke up to the smell of burning eggs and the sounds of muffled cursing. I smiled to myself knowing that Jacob had attempted cooking again. I rolled out of bed and started feeing my way down the stairs. Jacob looked up from the charred lump that used to be eggs to see Vale making her way down the stairs with a huge grin plastered on her face. "What're you smiling about Vale?" Jacob asked teasingly. "What is it a crime to smile around here?" I asked with another grin. "Hey now that's a double offense  Ms. Sinclair, I'm going to have to arrest you for that one." Jacob said with a stern voice. I giggled as he pulled my hands behind my back. "No laughing either!" He said before releasing my hands and laughing. I started laughing with him before we both fell over from laughing so hard. My stomach growled loudly causing Jacob and I to break into giggles again. I got to my feet and felt my way over to the cabinet that held the cereal. Jacob looked over at me. "Hey what're you doing? I made eggs." I snorted. "I could smell them burning from upstairs, I'll pass." Jacob stood up and ruffled my hair before taking the plate of blackened eggs and dumping it in the trash. "Hey Vale honey, would you be so sweet to make me some cereal too?" I looked over in his direction and grinned. "Yeah sure." I replied. I made two bowls of captain crunch and felt my way over to the table that was in the middle of the kitchen. I set down the bowls and Jacob grabbed one and started chomping it loudly. I wrinkled my nose and made a face in his direction. I heard him laugh. "What's with the face?" He asked. "Why do you have to eat so loudly?" I heard him laugh again. "Why do you have to eat so quietly?" He countered. I laughed. "Touché." I said before taking a bite of my cereal.
