After we were done with breakfast Mark and I parted ways. His first class was Potions and mine was Charms.
As Delilah guided me to the Charms classroom I remembered when I had received my Hogwarts letter. Professor Darme had delivered it and had said he was the Charms teacher.
As Delilah led me through a doorway I heard many people whispering. I sat down and Delilah gave me a piece of parchment paper and the special quill.
"Ah Ms. Sinclair, nice to see you again." I recognized the voice as Professor Darme's. I smiled in his direction. "Nice to see you too, Professor Darme." I said politely.
The Professor smiled at Vale though she didn't know it.
About an hour later I walked out of the Charms classroom feeling completely confused and a little discouraged. Everything the Professor had said had made no sense and I could barley remember any of it.
I had taken plenty of notes but they didn't make much sense to me either. I sighed heavily and started heading to my next class, History of Magic.
By the end of the day I had sat through all of my classes and none of them had made any sense to me. It had been like the Professors were speaking a foreign language only I couldn't understand. I trudged back to the common room, Delilah close by my side.
Once we reached the common room I said the password and took a huge step into the common room. I heard an excited voice calling my name.
"Vale! Vale!" Delilah guided to a couch and I plopped down on it. "Hey Mark." I heard a loud thump beside me and felt the weight shift on the couch, I assumed that Mark had sat down.
"How was your first day??" I sighed. "Not that good...I didn't understand anything the Professors were saying and Delilah kept taking wrong turns so I was late to at least half of my classes."
Mark patted my back consolingly before letting out a huge yawn. "Don't worry Vale, I'll help you out. Starting tomorrow I'll tutor you."
I smiled. "Thanks Mark." "No problem Vale." A moment of silence passed between us. Suddenly I heard a very loud growling noise coming from Mark's direction. We both started giggling.
"Well I guess I'm hungry." Mark said with another giggle. I laughed. "Yeah I'm pretty hungry too, let's go get some dinner."
