A few minutes later Annabeth came back with Chiron. She looked grim, while Chiron just looked particularly alarmed.
"What? What did I do?" I asked. No one was answering my questions.
"Annabeth. Go get Jackie place in Cabin 11 for now. Tell Percy that she needs a spot now." Chiron said in a very strict voice. That name popped up again, he must be pretty popular here.
“Who is this Percy dude?” I asked.
“He’s my boyfriend.” Annabeth replied before starting off. Sure that helped! Although I gather that Annabeth is a very bright girl the answer didn’t exactly help.
Annabeth ran down the hill towards a set of 12 cabins, with many more littering the area. The strange thing was that each cabin was different. There was a red one, blue one, gold one and the one that caught my eye, was the stone one, with the trident symbol.
"Come on Jackie, I'll give you the tour."
Chiron managed me down the hill. He showed me the archery range, the rock climbing wall and even the lake. All the places at this so called "camp" were really weird, but it was sort of interesting to see.
Chiron was showing me a few more places, but I really wasn't paying attention. The ADHD part of my mind was off speculating somewhere, while the other part of my brain was trying to wrap itself around that my father wasn't dead and that he was a god.
"Here are the cabins. You'll be staying in that cabin over there," Chiron said as he pointed to the only normal looking one. It was made out of logs.
Chiron led me into Cabin 11. There were tons of teens sitting on sleeping bags. I took a death breath. As Chiron led me through the door.
When my eyes adjusted, I saw at least a dozen kids sitting on their sleeping bags. An older boy stepped forward.
"Hi. My name is Connor," he said. He had dark blonde hair and blue eyes. His whole face told me that he was a trouble maker, and come to mention it. Everyone in the cabin was the same. They all had the same upturned eyebrows and ever pleasant smirks on their faces.
"Hi," I forced myself to say. Then another boy, that looked just like Connor swung down off his bunk.
"Hi, I’m Travis. You must be Jackie, Annabeth told me about you," he said.
“You can probably take it from here," Chiron said to the boys. I realized that he wasn't inside the cabin with me. He was right outside of the cabin door. He was too tall to get in the door.
"Bye Chiron," I said. He waved worriedly then walked away.
"Okay let's find you a spot on the floor, “Connor said as he led me farther into the cabin.
I had to step over people and step on the ends of sleeping bags in order to get the back of the cabin. There were bunks but each one was filled.
"Here you are. You can take this spot," Travis said.
I sat down. No one was talking to me. I tried to be sociable but no magic was strong or great enough to keep these half-bloods from mentally throwing daggers at me. I mean, seriously. Did I smell bad?
You know, it's rude to stare, I thought harshly, raising an eyebrow at one twelve-year-old boy.
He blinked once, then shuddered and turned his back to me. I snorted and just lay down not daring to look at anyone in the face. A few minutes later, Connor came over.
"So, who’s your parent," I asked trying to be a sociable
"Hermes. Messenger to the gods," he said without even having to think.
