*Alex's POV*

I hadn't even realized it was a Friday until I glanced at the calendar on the wall under the small tv. Well at least I don't have to worry about school and can stay here late tonight and come back tomorrow. I just hate the idea of poor Jack sitting here alone. The last thing he needs is more time to over think. Oh gosh do I sound obsessive? Oh my... I do. I sound like a complete idiot. Who am I kidding, we've only known each other for a few days. I guess I'm just like mom, overly invested in things and people I barely know. Hopefully Jack doesn't mind me being here. Why must I be such a pushover when it comes to trying to make friends? It doesn't work very well -obviously- Rian and Zack are some of the only people who gave me a chance. At least they don't treat me like a doormat, not that I would be able to stand up for myself if anyone did.

"Hey, Alex," Jack's voice pulls me out of my revery "why did you come here anyway?"

"Well I had to make sure you were okay"

"You worry too much, Lex"

"I know. But what else would I have to do with my time?"

He chuckles "Get a girlfriend or something"

"Oh yeah. Girls are the last thing I will ever have to worry about" I roll my eyes

"Just girls? I see" He smirks, or at least I think it was a smirk? Something along those lines. Either way the whole school kinda knows about him being gay. I dont know if he wanted them to find out, but they did. At least they didn't make a big deal of it. Not until now anyway.

*Jack's POV*

It's kind of surprising that Alex came out here to check on me. I honestly didn't expect anyone to care. Then again, once my parents find out I'm here they'll probably hunt me down and lecture me to death. Thank god they're both working late tonight. I should just enjoy being here with Alex for now. After all, he is one of the only friends I have. It sounds like he's some sort of 'last resort' thing, but he's really not. Alex seems to really care about me and I'm not even sure why.

*Alex's POV*

"Visiting hours are over, you can come back tomorrow at seven" A nurse says, shuffling into the room.

"Okay. See you in the morning Jack. Get some rest" I say

"Bye Lex" He waves as the nurse closes the door and leads me back to the waiting room.

"Is that your mother?" She motions to mom, who's snoring away in one of the chairs.

I chuckle and nod "Yeah"

"She was snoring so loud we thought she needed medical attention"

"Sorry about that" I tap her on the shoulder and whisper "Wake up... Mom... We gotta go home"
