(A/N: hey guys! I know that this book seems awful and you think that it's going to be like every other 'Adopted by WHOEVER' book you've read. Well it's not. The first few chapters are going to be a little bit boring, but I'm just trying to explain what's happening before the exciting things come in. Okay? Okay. I hope you enjoy my new book!)
We'll say it's Wednesday.
C H R I S T I N E"This house needs more girls," I sighed as I watched my sons, Hunter and Ashton fight over the tv remote.
Brandon (the middle child) walked in the kitchen, and he must have heard what I said because he said, "Mom, you say that ALL THE TIME! Do you want me to dress Ashton up like a girl or something? I'm sure he'd be okay with it."
I chuckled, Brandon was such a weirdo.
Ashton and Hunter stopped wrestling and listened.
"I want a sister, but I don't to be the sister," Ashton chimed in.
"Yeah, you should adopt. I see a lot of commercials on tv that advertise this place called, 'Susan's Children.' Those commercials always make me feel bad for those kids." Brandon said.
Hunter was clearly not thrilled about the thought of another sibling because he looked at us like we were crazy and stormed off into his room.
"What's his problem? He's always grumpy." Ashton said.
I said, "I don't know, I'll go check on him."
I left my boys in the kitchen and walked up the stairs. I softly knocked on Hunter's door, trying not to make him any madder than he already was. He opened it and said, "Before you come in, I need to ask you a question."
I nodded my head and said, "Okay?"
"Can you name one time that you forgot about me?" He asked.
"Ummmm..." I said, trying to think.
He said, "I'll help. Remember when you forgot me in a grocery store last week? Or at football practice a few months ago? Or in the mall? Or at that amusement park last year? Or at the park when I was 10?"
"Hunter, what does this have to do with adopting?" I asked him.
"You've forgotten about me a lot. And I don't want it to happen again." He said, shutting the door.
I left because I wanted to give him some time to think. Maybe another girl in the house wouldn't be the best thing right now, I thought. I went downstairs and layed on the couch.
B R A N D O N
While my mom was upstairs, trying to talk to Hunter, Ashton and I thought of a plan. We actually liked the idea of having a sister, so we thought of all the ways to guilt Hunter into saying yes.
1. Mom has always wanted a girl in the house.
2. We could teach her how to play video games.
3. He would get paid to babysit all of us.
4. All the girls love a guy with a cute little sister. We couldn't think of any more ideas but decided that that would probably be enough.
After Mom came downstairs and layed on the couch, we headed up to Hunter's room and barged in.He yelled, "Haven't you guys ever heard of PRIVACY?"
I looked down sheepishly but I knew that we had to stick to our plan.
"Hunter, we know that you don't love the idea of a new sibling, but we think that it would be good for our family." Ashton said.
He looked at me for approval and I nodded.
"You know that mom always liked the idea of not being the only girl in the house, and you want her to be happy, right?" I said, softly.
"Yeah, and we could teach her how to play video games, AND you would get paid to babysit all of us." Ashton added.
I was about to say something else, but Hunter put his hands in the air as if he was giving up.
"Okay," he said, "Maybe. Just maybe. I like the idea of having a little sister,"
Ashton and I smiled and high-fived each other.
yooooooo! how was it? ik it's not the best, but I have big plans for future chapters! just wait..,
