She said yes.

Today was the day.

I was going back to Afabit's Records to sign the recording contract. If everything goes right, which it should, I could become famous. I already have a big following on Instagram and Twitter because of my brothers, but that's not what I want to be known for. I actually made my own singing account to see if people liked me, and not just my family. I had gotten a bunch of likes and comments as soon as I posted my first video and that made me feel really good. Singing is something that I've just always loved to do.

I looked at my new computer and saw that Cameron wanted to Skype. I clicked the green button so we could talk before I had to leave.

"Hey little sis!" Cameron said with a huge smile on his face.

"Hi," I said.

I noticed that he was wearing a black suit and bow tie. He had a shiny nameplate on it that said CAMERON on it in big lettering.

I asked, "What are you all dressed up for?"

"Oh I have a modeling thing this morning, but I thought I should call you on your big day!"

"Thanks," I said, smiling, "I'm pretty sure we have to go soon though."

Cam said, "Okay, well I'll see you soon."

Then he hung up.

He would see me soon?

"Are you ready?" Christine yelled up the stairs.

"Yeah, let me get some shoes." I yelled back.

I ran downstairs and I saw Bill Hecker. My grandpa. Well, adopted Grandpa I should say. I followed him on Instagram and I had heard tons about him from my brothers, but this was the first time I met him.

"Hi Alex, I'm your Grandpa." He said.

He has a sweet smile and seemed really nice.

"Are you excited?" Grandpa asked as we walked to Christine's car.

I nodded, "And really nervous. This is going to be amazing!!"

We all hopped in the car and started driving.

--------

I swear the car ride could not have taken any longer, even though it was only an hour. Brandon opened the door for me and I thanked him. He had been in such a  good mood lately. I should honestly thanks Elly for everything she has done for him. For a while, Brandon was, how do I say this? I guess you could say that he was in a bad place. I know that he only acted like he was okay for me. Hunter told me that we couldn't bother him because he was very sad and needed to be alone. I didn't really listen to him because I think that if you are sad you shouldn't be alone.

Anyway, back to the story. We walked into the familiar lobby of Afabit's Records. I looked around, taking it all in. There was a different person at the front desk this time. He was turned facing away from the us, but I'd know that hair anywhere.

"Cameron?" I said.

The man turned around.

"I told you I'd see you soon!"

He jumped over the desk and gave me a hug.

He said, "I got a job here!"

Christine gave him a weird look.

"Well I'm an intern, but maybe I can get this job in the future. I was just helping out in here while the other employees were busy."

Cam went back behind the desk, looked at the computer, and clicked around for a second.

"Well, I just got an email that Mr. Afabit is waiting for you in the studio!"

He leaned over and kissed the top of my head, "Good luck in there!"

"Bye Cam," Everyone said.

We all headed down the hallway in silence. I knew exactly where to go this time.

I knocked and held my breath.

The door slowly opened and Mr. Afabit welcomed us in. He was wearing his normal suit, tie, and sunglasses combination. He told my family that they could stay in the front part of the studio, while we headed to the back where the contract was. There was a camera on every side of me and it was really stressful. Most nine year olds don't have to go through this type of stress, but I was thankful. Mr. Afabit could definitely tell that I was nervous because he patted me on the back and told me what to do.

"All you have to do is do your signature where it says, 'client's signature.' You  have nothing to worry about Alex."

I don't know what it was, but all of a sudden I was very relaxed. Maybe it was his calming voice or the fact that I was just naturally more comfortable in the studio.

"I'm going to turn on the camera and you can sign when you are ready." He said.

I let out a deep breath, grabbed the pen, and signed it. I picked up the paper and smiled into one of the camera lenses.

It was official.

I was official.

I could be the next big thing.

yay Alex!!
