3. Heartbreak

I sat up in my bed, not that I was asleep because after what happened a few hours ago I couldn't find any peace because my head was running marathons over and over again. I couldn't believe that last night was real, what we did was just a dream that I had or was a figure of my imagination. All of things would make total since except for the purple and blue hickey that was on my neck, and the one next to my collar bone and the one next to that one. I had about 5 of them, different sizes but they were all obnoxious to cover up.

After 30 minutes of covering 3 of them I decided to leave the other two alone not caring of the judging eyes, I am their Queen they can't do much to me. I changed into a pair maroon leggings, a black tank top with some white writing and a white cardigan, I also slipped on a pair of black shoes. The cardigan was kind of loose on me so it kept falling off my shoulder and I kept pulling it up. 

"Drew the meeting is starting soon" I heard Aiden out side of my door
"Coming" I said and opened the door the first think he noticed was the marks on the side of my neck.
"What? Who?" His sentences were incomplete and I just rolled my eyes and walked past him in the direction of the meeting room
"did Braxton give you those?" He asked
"No the queen of England did" I rolled my eyes
"so everything is going great with you?" He asked
"No it's not going great because we are never going to be together, because he doesn't want a mate" I told him still looking straight ahead.
"But he left his marks all over you" he kept trying
"No one knows they are his and it's going to stay that way. Now shut up" I said when we got to the meeting room he obeyed and closed his mouth when I opened the doors and saw everyone but Braxton still wasn't here i sat down in the chair that was at the head of the table and waited a few minutes for Braxton.

I smelled him before I saw him and then he was in the doors and his eyes on mine and then they traveled down to my neck and then he smirked and took the only available seat which was right next to me.
"Now let's get this meeting started" I smiled and then the talking started. A little tip I learned about thirty minutes into this meeting is that you should never put 7 hard headed, alpha males in a room together.
"We came here for one reason, we need to talk about the packs safety and how to reassure that safety. Now please let the Queen speak" Aden's voice boomed over the room.
"How is a female going to ensure us safety?" One of the alphas said
"She's not even mated" some one else said
"Where did she even get those hickeys from?" I heard someone lowly said
"She's probably a slut" I heard someone else say. This was really getting me angry
"She probably already banged half of the guards around here" before I could say anything Braxton beat me to it

"She's my mate! And I'm not going to tolerate you talking about her like that!" His voice was menacing and fear was captured in their eyes as they coward down in their seats. He then got up and stormed out
"I thought you said things weren't going good?" Aiden whispered to me I just gave him a confused looked and shrugged my shoulders
"All of you are dicks and do not deserve my protection. But I'm not as mean and dickish as all of you. This meeting will continue tomorrow. Try not to be assholes then" I left to go find my mate. I followed his scent back to my room where he was sitting on my bed.

"I'm sorry" I said when I got to my room.
"I just thought you accepted me because you didn't hide my marks but then I heard them talk like that and i just lost it. I know you didn't want anyone to know and I'm sorry" he said as he trailed a finger over the hickeys he placed on my neck. I took his hand in mine and kissed it.
"I thought you don't want a mate" I said
"I didn't until I met you" he told me truth shining in his eyes
"That's why I left last night" my voice was quiet when I spoke
"I don't want to be alone any longer" he put his hands on the sides of my face
"I don't want to be either" I kissed his hand again and he leaned in and kissed me softly at first but then the hunger drove us to more passionate kisses and a new kind of kiss something I've never experienced before.
