Le'annaMarie's POV
I walked into school the next day, very cautiously, to make sure I didn't run into Shawn and his friends. I didn't know it before but Shawn and his buddies are actually in a gang. They told me yesterday when they had cornered me. I was also informed that they are not people you want to mess with. They whole time I prayed in my head that God would send someone to save me.
Then he came.
Andréas had saved me...
From who knows what they may have did. There was no one around to see. But out of nowhere, Andréas doesn't even hesitate to come help me. He got them to leave but I know for sure that wasn't the last time I'd see their faces. I'm just glad to know that God answered my prayers and sent me help right on time. After what had happened, Andréas kindly took me out for lunch which I never do because I'm afraid I'll be late to class. But yesterday I took a chance.
I couldn't help but mention to him that he never smiles- that's one thing I automatically will see when looking at a person- their smile. However, I know it's forced. It's almost as if he wants to smile but refuses to because of the whole bad-boy act he puts on. I hope I didn't come off to harshly on him yesterday about what I told him. Being alive is a reason to smile or...at least something to be thankful for.
There must be something that is missing in his life or some kind of luggage he is holding on from the past which is why he acts the way he does. I mean, he's never mentioned anything about his family, besides his cousin Pablo, or anything about his past life. There must have been something that really affected him. Something that caused anger, in which he is now he's mad at the world. Maybe something that caused sadness, so now he acts tough to hide his pain...I'm not sure.
I know he is a caring person and I don't want him to hide it because it's sweet. And it hurts me to see sweet, caring people act the total opposite of who they are on the inside. I'll help him get through it- I've done it before with many of friends. And I don't help people because I want a pat on the back or for compliments. I help others because I care.

"So how was the lunch date you and Andréas had yesterday?" Haley asked wiggling her eyebrows.
Every since I texted her about the whole situation, she has not let it go. When I told her about the situation with Shawn, she automatically panicked and made all my drill team friends panicking, too. I told them I was fine but they still are not letting me walk around the school by myself anymore. Anyways, Haley and I were chilling in the hallway- in a booth- during our free period which was good because we love our friends but sometimes we need time for us to just talk.
"It wasn't a date. It was simply lunch-"
"Don't start that! No absolutely gorgeous guy saves you from dirty gang bangers and simply takes you to for a buddy-buddy lunch. He saved you and he knew you had to pay him back some how...that was date." She said with a satisfied smile.
"Fine...whatever you want to call it, Hay. But about Andréas...he-"
"Is a totally sexy bad boy-" Haley said and I glared at her.
"Sorry. Continue." She said.
"It's okay...but he...is going through some things. He has never talked to me about it but I can just see it. When he comes to school, it's like he expects everyone to be intimidated by him. I mean, I'm not."
"I'm intimidated by his good looks but go on." Haley added and I giggled.
"He doesn't need to do that. It's just sad to see people hiding their sensitive side because they're afraid of what people think of them. He never smiles, like ever, and it's probably because something affected him and the pain on the inside just reflects on the outside." I explained.
