Andréas's POV

*A week later*

Ortiz, his friends and I all sat on the bleachers in the gym during lunch, eating Donatos that his friend, Jace, just got for us. The second week of school hasn't been so bad. Ortiz and I are actually talking again...like we use to. We caught up on the years we missed together including his first year in high school, girls...but one thing that suprised me the most is that he told me he slept with Abby Hilton- my "best friend." I'm suprised Ortiz, the supposed 'good child' actually got some his junior year.

"Wow, you f***** Abby?" I asked.

"Yeah...I know she gets around. And I mean...around, with everybody, man!" Ortiz said causing us to laugh. "But, damn, was it worth it." He said with a smirk on his face and I mumbled 'that's disgusting.'

"Hey, but I meant to ask you...do you know Le'annaMarie?" I asked and they all looked at each other and shook their heads with lopsided grins on their faces. I hadn't talk to her once even though I told Pablo I would. But I have seen her around and I've noticed she is very reserved and quiet when she isn't with her friends.

"Oh yeah, we all know her..." Ortiz said. The way he said it though made it seem like it wasn't a good thing.

"Why did you say it like that?" I asked in a defensive tone.

"Well, we all know that she is sexy as hell, has a bangin' body." Ortiz said and all his friends nodded their heads.

"But, she doesn't do guys." Ortiz said and I nearly choked. Is she a-

"Ha! Look at his face!" Ortiz pointed at me, "I'm kidding, Andréas. We all thought she was lesbian, too, which she isn't! But she just isn't into dating in high school right now. She is all about school, friends only and also very independent-"

"She's too nice for me." His friend, Jared, said.

"No, no, I can do nice or good girls. Because you know good girls are always ten times better than bad girls in bed." Ortiz held out his hand for me to shake and I rolled my eyes, "but anyways...she isn't into guys like us. She doesn't like trouble, parties and that s***- she does what's right 24/7. She is apart of like every clique in the school-"

"She doesn't believe in just hanging out with one group of people, she is everybody's friend!" His friend, Shawn, said with a goofy smile.

"Shut up Shawn! But that is what I was getting ready to say. She is different. Trust and believe I've tried to get with her- all of us have!" Ortiz said.

"Everyone in this school has tried to get with her, man." Jared added.

"And her best friend, Haley. Sexy as f-"

"Okay, Ortiz." I stopped him.

"But it will just be a waste of time with Le'annaMarie." Ortiz said and I shrugged as if I didn't care but inside it crushed me. Well, how was I ever suppose to talk to her now if she would just turn me down?

"You had a thing for her, man?" His friend asked.

"She's pretty." I said. Beautiful, actually. But that is not the only reason I wanted to get to know her.

"Yeah. But there are many fine girls here who aren't afraid to sleep with anyone." Ortiz said. They changed the subject and started talking about sports but as they were talking, I zoned out. That's what Ortiz doesn't get. When I was younger, I thought getting laid by hot girls was what I wanted but I realized as I got older, that isn't important. I wanna find someone special who wants to actually get to know me and someone that loves me. But I'm sure being loved by anyone was a privilege I lost a long time ago ever since Maria.

How could anyone or any girl love me, knowing what I did?

Last period came quick and I took a spot at a back table. Since this is honors spanish four, the teacher said she would rather have us sit at tables so we actually speak to people and have full out fluent conversations in a group. My group was, luckily, a quiet, foriegn student from Mexico named Jorge who is still learning english. Once we had an easy five minute conversation about our life- as asked by Ms. Garcia- we both went back to doing our own thing.

"Wow, that was awesome!" Le'annaMarie's friend, Haley, said in amazement before turning her chair to her friends who were having a conversation. "They just spoke a fluent spanish conversation, perfectly! Kiara go over there and speak with them!" She shoved her friend lightly.

"No, I'm talking to LeMarie." I heard her mumble. Kiara and Le'annaMarie began their conversation back up as Ms. Garcia passed out papers to us. After they finished, Le'annaMarie got right to the worksheet that was passed to her.

I watched her for a long time and she may have felt someone staring because she suddenly looked up at me. She stared for a few seconds before giving me a small smile. I had to force myself to pretend like her smile didn't affect me so I kept a straight face. She shrugged then went back to doing her work. Although I needed to do work as well, I couldn't seem to take my eyes off her.

Le'annaMarie's POV

Today in class, Ms. Garcia asked us to have a five minute conversation with someone at our table about our lives in fluent spanish. It was easy because I pretty much know the language. But I'm not the best at speaking it. I know what I'm saying when I speak, it just sounds funny when I say it. Anyways Kiara and I spoke, while Haley and another girl named, Emma, had a conversation.

After Haley was finished, she turned to listen to Andréas and Jorge have their conversation. I had a hard time concentrating because it was so interesting to hear two people to speak fluent spanish so perfectly.

"Wow, that was awesome!" Haley said as she turned back around to us, "They just spoke a fluent spanish conversation perfectly! Kiara, go over there and speak with them!" She said.

"No, I'm talking to LeMarie." Kiara mumbled and I grinned at Haley who stuck out her tongue. After we finished, I started the worksheet Ms. Garcia passed out. As I working, I suddenly got a weird feeling...like someone was staring at me.

When I looked up from my desk, the new boy, Andréas, stared at me with one of his beautiful, blazing forest green eyes while his is uncontainable, curly black hair hung over his other eye. He looked at me if he were reading me, trying to figure me out. I smiled lazily at him but his hard expression didn't change. I gave a small shrug then turned my attention back to my paper and continued writing...But even though I couldn't see his eyes, I could still feel him staring daggers through me.
