Andréas's POV

Le'annaMarie is the only girl I could ever imagine being with. I feel like the luckiest man on earth to have someone like her in my life. Someone so kind, loving, caring, genuine, encouraging...she is truly sent from above.

As we rode to my aunt and uncle's house, I smiled at how happy and free she looks as she danced to her favorite songs playing on the radio. She is not ashamed to sing aloud- as she has no reason to because she is super talented- and showed no fear but only absolute comfort around me which makes me feel good. She is completely oblivious to her natural glow that has attracted me since day one. I wonder if she knows how beautiful she really is.

She gave me a bright smile and I grabbed her hand and kissed it softly. I'm so proud to call her my girlfriend and I hope she feels same about me. I can't wait for my family to meet her.

I knocked on the door and as we waited for someone to answer, I took a look at my beautiful girlfriend's outfit. She looks so, so good. She has on a purple v-neck, tight, ripped jeans, tan sandals and gold jewelry. Her long hair is in beautiful waves and I'm tempted to run my hands through it.

"You look amazing." I said.

"As do you." She smiled brightly and squeezed my hand. At that moment, Ortiz opens the door with a goofy look on his face.

"Hey, you two love-birds! Come on in." The smell of Mexican food hit me and I became hungrier than I already was. My aunts favorite singer, Selena, was playing in the background as my little cousins danced in the living room and my Aunt Cecilia and Uncle Rico prepared dinner.

"Hello, family!" I said.

"Hi André- oh, wow, you must be Andréas's famous girlfriend...tan boñita." Aunt Cecilia said as she hugged us both.

"It's so nice to meet you." Uncle Rico shook hands with her and she smiled.

"Oh thank you so-"

"Oh. My. Gosh. Ohmygosh!!! You're Le'annaMarie!" My cousin, Selena, dropped her phone as she came down the stairs, "you are like my favorite person in the whole world! Can I hug you?" Selena asked excitedly.

"Of course, hi, it's so nice to meet you." LeMarie said as Selena embraced her.

"You are so much more beautiful in person," Selena giggled, "I'm sorry, uh, that probably made you uncomfortable-"

"You're okay, sweetie. And you are so beautiful, too," LeMarie gently grabbed her face and Selena smiled gratefully, "and your hair is gorgeous." She said.

"Oh, thank you so much. You're so kind. Just as I imagined." Selena said. My heart warmed up at how well she treated my family. Especially Selena.

Selena had been dealing with bullying at school and insecurity issues over the past couple years. She goes to a more elite school and the girls tease her for coming from what they call a "minority family" and she often feels like she has to try extra hard to get their attention. I heard her talking to Cecilia one day- it was before LeMarie came back- and what she expressed broke my heart...then the last thing I heard brought me joy.

"Mom, the girls at school treat me like I'm nothing. I have my friends but we often don't talk about anything serious. I feel like they'll never get me, because they don't have to struggle to fit in; they already do. They are rich, beautiful, and...white. I'm average, too curvy and come from a 'minority family', as people put it." Selena said sadly.
