Andreas's POV
This weekend rolled by quick- it didn't feel like Monday was tomorrow. Le'annaMarie had asked that we could talk face to face about something important but trying to make up a time wasn't possible because we were both so busy this weekend. So I told her it was something that could wait for school on Monday.
Thankfully it wasn't too busy today at the shop so Pablo just let me go home early. Pulling up in the apartment complex, I noticed there were more cars in the lot than usual. I didn't think much about it and walked up to the door. I heard multiple voices of men and loud music. Abell never has people over. I unlocked the door with a key that I copied and I discovered something very unexpected.
There are drunk men snorting powder off the table, while other men were shooting venomous needles into their veins, there were shot glasses going around the room. There was s*** everywhere, the smell of weed lingering around the house...one thing I couldn't find is Abell.
"Abell?" I shouted. Seconds later, Abell came from out the bathroom. His eyes were bloodshot red and bulging. He was sweaty and his pupils were dilated and his nose was red.
"What the hell is going on here?" I asked him. He wiped his nose and walked pass me, completely ignoring my question.
"Todos salir! Mi hijo está aquí..." Abell commanded. All the men cursed under their breath, gathered their things and began to scatter out the door.
"I didn't know you got off so early-"
"Cut the s***, Abell. It doesn't matter how early I got here...why are you doing this to yourself? How long has this been going on?" I asked and he stared at me drowsily. He was tuned out for a second and it took a while for him to answer.
"Look, you're in my house. I do what what I want." He said wearily.
"Hay que ir otra vez! Please. Tell me something I don't know. You are killing yourself with this crap. Don't you think-"
"Oh, why the f*** do you care?!" He shouted.
"You know what...why should I care? I'm mean it's not like you cared when I was away for three years."
"Hay que ir otra vez," He repeated my statement I made earlier, "can't seem to let the past go-"
"Man, forget this. I'm goin' to bed..." I began walking away.
"Wait, wait, Andréas. I forgot to tell you," Ignore him and just keep walking, "I met you're pretty little friend a few days ago." He said mischievously. I turned around to face him and he had a sly smile on his face.
"Yeah, what's her name? Le'annaMarie..." He had a sardonic look, "she is beautiful, sexy actually. Are you hittin' that-"
"Don't you dare talk about her like that." I warned, feeling the anger rise in me. My fist balled up but I knew I had to stay in control of my actions. Knowing Le'annaMarie's wisdom, she'd tell me lashing out on him- to defend her- isn't worth it.
"Well, excuse me," he chuckled, "she's a good girl, isn't she? I could see that in her." He smiled to himself. He probably had some innapropriate thoughts on the brain but I didn't let it get to me.
"How'd you...how does she know-"
"We met at the pharmacy. She must have heard me say my name. But she politely introduced herself and even stood up for you by saying you'd never hurt anyone..." Man, I love that about her- always sticking up for people she cares most about.
"You haven't told her, have you? About the fire, about going to prison...what are you thinking?" I stayed silent because he is right. What am I thinking to let us get this far in our friendship and not even tell her I wasted three years of my life in juvie over one stupid mistake?
