Name: Jessie "Jess" Harold

Age: 16, currently a junior  (11th grade) in high school

Gender: Female

Physical Appearance: Falling somewhere between "beautiful" and "less pretty than average," Jess isn't a face to remember. With big blue eyes and long brown hair, she falls in the "stereotypical white American teenager that isn't the pretty blonde cheerleader" category, but isn't curvy or busty enough to be the "hot brunette cheerleader that is almost prettier than the blonde one." Her height of 5'4" adds to her averageness. Overall, you'll probably forget what she looks like three minutes after you see her.

Personality: Shy and quiet, Jess is more often seem than heard. During school, she sits in the back and doodles in her notebook haphazardly. When walking in the hallways, she keeps her head down and stares at her feet. Once you get to know her, she can open up and be joyful, but won't ever be bubbly. Getting to know Jess is tough because she always assumes people don't care about her, but like a clam, once you open her up, inside is a precious gem beyond compare.

Background: Ever since she was a child, Jess has moved from state to state, in a never ending loop of goodbyes. When you're a child, it's quite fun, because you meet new friends everywhere you go. When you get older, however, friends are harder to make and "hello's" are even harder than "goodbye's." Because of her many goodbyes, she had gotten quite good at them, to the point where she had trouble seeing reason in even trying at make friends. But, as all young girls learn during their freshman year, she had to keep a pretty face for show with pretty words to go along. So she began thinking one opinion and saying another, trying to be liked but not drawn in. She began saying 'yes' when she wanted to say 'no.' Soon, she found herself becoming a fake she'll of who she really was, and a minuscule part of her wanted someone to take the time to crack open that shell and get to know the real her. But, just like every other school, no one cared.

Strengths: Because she's moved so often, saying goodbye is no longer a problem for Jess. She could leave someone hurting her or slowing her down in a heartbeat.

Also, she can go unnoticed in a crowd, blend in when others are trying to find her. She isn't too bad at running either, from her years of running as a past time to fill up her empty schedules.

Weakness: As shy as she is, she has trouble making friends and fitting in, not that she wants to.

She pushes everyone away who could possibly want to get to know her, and doesn't even realize she's doing it. She works alone, but desperately wants someone else to be with her because humans want to be together.
