Chapter 40:

JESSICA'S POV

"Where's Cameron?" I asked as I walked down the stairs from Shawn's house. I had just woken up from my nap and it was 5:30 like who sleeps that long. All the guys were here sitting in Shawn's living room, And i had no clue why.

Cameron and I had to crash at his place because Cameron decided to pull a prank on me which caused our apartment to smell like freaking skunk. We grabbed clothes and Jaxx and rushed out of that apartment that night so i was pretty tired.

"He's in the office" Shawn replied. I walked over to the right and a long hallway followed. I walked down the hallway then turned a left.

"Hey Cam" I said happily.

"Im working right now" was all he said. He didn't even look up at me. Since when was his work more important than me?

"Did you eat Di-"

"Jessica go away I'm busy" he said a little stressed.

"Uh okay. C'mon Jaxx. Lets go check if there's some pizza" I went on my knees and picked up Jaxx. I walked away from Cameron. My heart hurt a little bit. I sighed. I walked over to the living room. Where all the guys sat.

Should I break the rules right now? Should I text Max? Oh shoot that's not a bad idea actually.

I had Jaxx in my arms and stood just before entering the living room. As I moved i pulled out my phone and walked into the kitchen looking for Max's name. I quickly sent Max a message And ran to my room yelling. "Ill be in my room watching Greys" I heard multiple replies.

Hey be outsides Shawns house in 10 minutes. Lets go get lunch :)

I waited a few minutes for a reply. In the mean time I was getting ready.

I finished with putting my hair in a pony tail. I walked downstairs leaving Jaxx some food and water in my room.

I snuck into the kitchen getting Shawn's keys thank god they didn't hear me. They would have never let me leave.

I opened the door and as I turned on the car. The car door opened. I looked to my side and saw Max. I smiled at him but really the only reason why I wanted to meet up with him Is because I wanna know what's wrong with Cameron and he should know.

"Hey bud"

"Hey let me back out and then we can talk"
"Sounds good" I got out of the drive way successfully looking through the rearview mirror to see if any of the guys came out.

"Okay Jess what's going on?" he asked

"Nothing isn't it okay to meet up with your friend"

"Not me J" I frowned a little bit. "You even said that you were done with this gang shit so why bring me back in your life?"

"Because you at least have a normal life. You at least have time for the ones you love or even like. And your work doesn't get in the way to meet up with someone."

"J-"

"Don't say anything to me I'm not scared of you. Max I trust you okay just please can we not have a talk about this gang stuff can it just be 2 friends actually hanging out. Please" i plead.

He let out a long sigh. "Okay, okay fine but I will need to address something with you later"

"Speaking of addressing I need to be home before one of the guys notice I'm missing" I let out a laugh.
