I haven't done 'Messed Up Kid' in a while... Oh well...
There was always this one place I loved to go as a child. While most people loved the movies, home, the park, I adored going to the place behind the back closet in the back room in toy store in a place I called The World of White.
The World of White is exactly what it sounds like - a world that is made almost entirely of different shades of white, which sounds really boring, but it wasn't. It had a river (that had a bluish tint), a wheel boat (that had pale blue and pale pink stripes on the side). It was like one of those places where time seemed to stop (almost like the picture the picture above).
The toy store was the place I always went to. They had trains, porcelain dolls, puzzles., ect (Think the candy store transformed into a toy store from the 1971 version of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory). Sometimes, the owner would let me play with the dolls in the back room that had the closet. And every time I would go into the closet and open the door into the room behind the closet.
That room was always changing. It wasn't white at all. Sometimes it was a regular color. Other times it was a scenery of a beach or forest from somewhere. My favorite person there was Jean. He looked like cross between Gene Wilder and the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp). He had purple hair and green eyes that always made him look like he was up to something. I think he was crazy. I spent most of my time there with him or talking to the Greek statues.
The statues where beautiful. None of them looked anything like the other. Or the other like to it. They were great story tellers. They often spoke of places that I'd had never heard of. They had a way with words. They taught me how to do things like, for example, how to speak formally. and how to handle certain situations.
It was beautiful. Only one problem:
It doesn't exist.
I made the ENTIRE thing up. But I loved going there so much.
I admit - I spend more time in my head than I should've as a child. And yes, there are some problems with that, but if you knew me then you would know that I also have a tendency to act funny. For example, I've known webo77 since we were in kindergarten and every once in a short while, I would pretend that I was someone else acting as me.
I am proud to admit that I got webo77 to do this, too (however unintentionally).
