A Thorn in your Side

A few days after the field trip to Neverland, classes resumed as scheduled. It was free study at Ever After High and Raven was sitting on a bean bag chair next to Darling and Maddie. She was chatting to them about what they should do after school.
"My Tea Shoppe is closed for this week due to my dad flooding the store in mint tea." She giggled as she poured a cup of tea for herself.
"We could go to Hocus Latte, I hear the Cinderella Pumpkin Spice Latte is back." Darling chimed in as she polished her sterling sword.
"Wait a skoodle! What about Dex?" Maddie questioned as she bit into her teacup.
"He has bookball practice today. I'm also capable of hanging out with my friends." Raven said sarcastically. The rest of the girls laughed as well.
Across the room, Duchess Swan and Faybelle Thorn were on a couch chatting about their looks and importance. Duchess pulled out her personal mirror and smoothed her hair.
"Ugh, I can't believe that troll Raven gets a prince, and I am too good for the rest of the princes at school." Duchess snapped her mirror back and hugged. Faybelle pulled out a small thick stone tablet out of her purse.
"Hex this out! I found this is Neverland, the tour was a fairy fail so I flew into this abandoned temple and found this." The tablet has ancient writing on it along with 5 engraved ovals with a unique fingerprint pattern on it.  Duchess squinted her eyes but then widened in shock.
"Faybelle... Look at the back..." Faybelle raised a brow and turned the tablet around. There was an abstract raven design on the back. That was the well know symbol for the Evil Queen. This tablet belonged to her.
"No way... Maybe Raven can tell us what it is." Faybelle said looking at the tablet with awe. Duchess scoffed.
"Like she would help you! She has gone all goody two wings since Legacy Day." Duchess crossed her arms.
"Maybe we can trick her..."
*************************************************************************************************************** After the last bell for the day rang, Raven grabbed her stuff and walked down the hallway to her locker. As she was walking, she was suddenly pulled into  the castleodians closet by a mysterious person. The room was pitch black and the door slammed shut. The light went on as soon as the person pulled the string. Raven stood there wondering what happened. Faybelle walked up from the shadows and put her finger to her lips. She pulled out the tablet, Raven gasped.
"How did you get that?!" She tried to touch it but Faybelle pulled back.
"It's not real. It's uh... It's a fake model to study em, evil artifacts...yeah." She put on a fake smile so that Raven could not see through her lie.
"It has your mother's symbol on it. By any chance, can you read it?"  Raven squinted and moved closer to the tablet. She grabbed it but soon a purple shock came from the tablet onto her hand. Faybelle soon grabbed the tablet back.
"That's no fake Faybelle! Give it to me, you don't know what's it is capable of!" Faybelle backed away from her.
"No! I found it and I am just as it even more powerful than you! You're not even evil!" Faybelle exclaimed. Raven rolled her eyes.
"I don't have time for this!" Raven froze her still with a flick of the wrist. She grabbed the tablet carefully from her and put it in her purse. She unfroze Faybelle.
"Give that back you witch!" Faybelle yelled trying to grab Raven's purse.
"Bye Faybelle." She opened the door and walked out into the hallway again, leaving Faybelle still in the closet. Faybelle huffed and zapped the items in the closet.
"Raven Queen. You will regret clipping this Dark Fairy's wings!"
************************************************************************** Raven Queen ran up the Girl's dorm and into her room. She threw her purse on the bed and locked her doors. Rose looked up from her laptop.
"Raven what are you-"
"Rose, lock the balcony doors and windows. Shut the curtains!" Rose got up quickly and did what she asked. Raven grabbed the tablet and set it on her desk. She sat down and grabbed her magnifying looking glass. Rose came over and dragged over her faux fur seat.
"What is that?" Rose asked as Raven looked over the tablet.
"It's my mother's tablet of a thousand dark mysteries. It can be catastrophic in the the wrong hands." Raven said turning to Rose.
"Can you read the writing?" Rose asked.
"One of the very few perks of being the daughter of an evil queen is that I can read ancient languages. It's a security lock, the ovals hold fingerprints readers. I have to put my fingers on them to unlock it..." Raven said staring at her hands.
"Well, go on then." Rose said nudging Raven's shoulder. Raven scooted her chair back.
"I don't think I should... Who knows what could happen?" Raven looked at the tablet. It gave her a weird vibe that sent chills down her spine.
"But it could also help you understand some things your mother won't tell you. You might even be able to fix some of the things your mother has caused." Rose explained putting her hand on her shoulder. Raven sighed. She might actually be able to help a lot of people. She was about to lay her fingertips before her phone started going off. Rose fell back for the sound startled her. Raven picked up the phone and answered it.
"Hello?"
"Hey sweetie I'm all done here for the day, we have a chance of beating Regal Academy thanks to Hunter's idea. How was your day?" Raven sighed and covered the speaker with her hand.
"Rose, do not tell anyone about this please. Fairy swear." Raven whispered. Rose nodded.
"Fairy swear." Rose whispered back. Raven took her hand off the speaker.
"Um it was...interesting. I can't wait to see your game." Raven picked up the tablet and put in her desk drawer. The drawer glowed purple but soon stopped.
"Well, I better get showered. See you later at Dinner. Love you." He said. She heard the guys laughing in the background and Dexter telling them to shut up.
"Love you too. See you later." Raven hung up and and sunk in her chair.
"This thing better stay here before I can understand it better." Raven locked the drawer and hung the key on her neck as a charm.
